Yay, mahjong is fun! Taisen Hot Gimmick and Mahjong Hyper Reaction are some of the best when it comes to arcade game.

As for PC, Splush Wave has been churning ero mahjong games since the 90s. For PC98, Animahjong by Sogna (that you may know from the Viper series) and Ten Sen Nyan Nyan look good.

Pretty much all Gals Gun games (a Qix-Clone). Not the only series of that kind. AFAIK there was another one for the N64 based Aleck64 Arcade board released - "Vivid Dolls".

And on the western market were a lot of of strip poker games around for pretty much any platform, even those that couldn't display that stuff very well. So those were pretty much a mixed bag.

Nocturnal Illusions actually supports GS midi via a Roland SC-55 (maybe SC-55 Mk2).
It sounds fantastic.

I think anon was speaking of Advanced V.G.2 for the Playstation. It is a surprisingly good fighting game, but by rules of Sony on their Japanese system in those days, no ero.

I think they tried to go in another direction with the console releases of Variable Geo, because they saw they actually had a good fighting game in their hands. One example is that between Advanced VG 1 and Advanced VG 2, there's an OVA (I think it's 3 episodes?) that, although not canon to the games, is actually referenced in Advanced VG 2, and although there's still nudity in the OVA, they toned the rape aspect down completely. They also got known seiyuus to voice Yuka and Reimi, instead of the women who voice them in the games (the woman who voices Yuka voiced a lot of eroge). In the OVAs, Yuka is voiced by the same seiyuu as Misato (Evangelion), and Reimi by the same seiyuu as Ritsuko (also Evangelion).

However, comes VG Neo, the new "series", and they return to their main eroge fare. Even the VG Neo anime series left the rape aspect intact - I remember some people were aghast at it because they thought it was a continuation of the Variable Geo OVA, and not many people knew it was a hentai game first thing.

The VG series is mostly defunct those days, although Yuka appeared in that crossover GIGA did a few years ago (Otome Crisis?). Most of the games were released before 2002.

Trivia 1: the information about VG Rebirth in Wikipedia is blatantly wrong.
Trivia 2: in VG Adventure, there was an actual "rape truck" that appeared whenever someone was defeated in broad daylight. One of the character even mentions jokingly "here comes the rape truck".

While we are at the subject of hentai fighting games, what's the deal with Ningyou Tsukai/Metal and Lace? Did it also come out on Japanese computers?

I think you're confused because there are actually two games, and one was released in English (for DOS, I think?). Both games came out for the PC-98, and the first also had a FM-TOWNS version.

Gamefaqs says the first game came out on PC98 and FM Towns as expected. Second was Dos exclusive.

I had thought Megatech repurposed and ported the pixel art from PC-98 games over to DOS. Since I don't think Faythe was in the Japanese release of Cobra Mission. Also I think they added in the interactions and purchases into Metal & Lace. The sequel on Ningyou Tsukai I think did have a DOS/V release (as I had downloaded it).

I remember someone tracing over the art of the box on the right and repurposing the pose/body for a Tifa drawing. Even in the game, Takeuchi Yuka has a doppleganger, also the same character designer used essentially the same character design for Akira in one of the Viper series of games. Just look up some of those Sogna or Viper games.

Actually, both Akira (Viper) and Yuka (VG) are references to the real chain of restaurants called Anna Miller's. Akira works at "Anna Mitter's" and Yuka works at "Hanna Miller's".

About Mai's costume. I remember finishing QG once in the PSP, but never going after the costumes. That's kinda cool.
