The gameboy market isn't that bad I would say. Most likely you'll run into a couple of hard to find/overpriced games, but overall it shouldn't be that expensive to jump in and start collecting again.

>retail means anything

Spotted the 12 year old. Just because you're bitter you weren't around to get deals doesn't mean you have to be an ass anon. Terrible logic too so you're also stupid. No one knew the rarity of certain games back then and even though you're a rude underage prick you still got this for free.

So I want to get into collecting my favorite games. Would anyone give a suggestion on how to do this?

>> No.4130056

>>4130021
It really is the same as buying anything look for good deals and jump on them.

Try pawn shops, garage sales, flea markets and so on. Or use eBay. There are lots of good games you can get for a low price, but the high profile games usually run a lot more.

Retro gaming is still a cheap hobby contrary to what a lot of people will tell you. Just don't go overboard and buy games you will actually play. That's my advice.

Just get some of those plastic fold out cartridge boxes. They're relatively cheap and keep the carts dust free.

Crash Warped, Crash team racing, Gran turismo 2, Pac man world, The spyro collection, Toy story racer from my works garbage compactor that was about to be used to crush them and added them to my collection of ps1 games

Honestly, probably too hard to estimate. Every so often there is someone on ebay who might sell a complete collection for a console and instead of researching each game to check how much it is they just put it for a few thousand.

If you're asking for yourself I say don't and that it would be a very stupid move. Buy a game because you love it. I bought a earthbound cartridge for $220, some may think that is ridiculous but I love the game and don't regret it a bit.

I collected retro games for over a decade, but it's been years since I got anything new.
And everytime I check Ebay out of curiousity I just see a lot of retarded high prices.

Worthless (^:

Okay but in all seriousness I say no. Unless you are in need of money then I have to say you'll probably regret selling your games, I see it all the time from people. At the very least I suggest reviewing each game and thinking "Am I going to play this at some point again, will i play this for years to come?". If you have stuff you feel you never will play then getting rid of it is good and allows you less clutter and hopefully allows someone who would appreciate it to now own it. Honestly I'm from the US so I assume there are price differences but from these pics there are some really valuable things here, I think the situation require deep consideration if you decide to sell but I say no, or as I said review your collection and see if there are things you don't want.

What >>4135379 said. I'm a PALfag and I'm pretty sure that several of those games are worth a lot in Europe. Even if it might be interesting to sell them for a lot of money, you might regret it at some point if you wanna own the original games again, especially if you want them boxed like in your pics. It really depends on how much the games still mean anything to you and if you ever (or regularly even) want to play them again. If I were you I'd keep them unless you're into some real financial troubles.

I just received shadows of the empire the other day, and I deleted all their saves on the cartridge. I sat there and thought about them all bonding over the game, who knows how many years ago, and felt a little bad. Anyone else get this feeling?

I've thought about it when I got N64, SNES and 3DS cartridges and saw some older save files but most of the time they never got far in the game anyway. Not only that but I'm sure that the people who made those files barely even remember it still being on it.

Some of those files had stupid but kind of funny in hindsight names like 007.
