Literally my favorite company and has been for decades. Densha de Go! alone puts them at the top for me, not to mention the rest of their catalog.

No video game is more iconic than Space Invaders

Original is still fun

Most of the sequels/remakes are actually pretty good too

I wish they had ported their Street Fighter II wannabe to the 5th or 6th gen consoles. It's very good.

They made Lufia so that's pretty awesome.

Recently came across a blog about how the translation almost never happened, and how it was basically a one man project put into our market on a whim.

Game was one of my childhood staples, let me see if I can find the link.

Here it is:
https://arkanoid64.wordpress.com/2013/06/09/lufia-and-the-fortress-of-doom-the-game-that-almost-wasnt-part-one/

Fascinating since it was written by someone who was right there for it.

Fucking awesome

They made a ton of great games especially for turbografx

Natsume made a bunch of games for them though.

Yeah but nothing like their glory days. They're effectively dead at this point. Like Konami.

They didn't. Neverland made Lufia.

Wouldn't been a big loss, Lufia 1 is totally generic.

In March 2006, Square Enix, which already owned 93% of the company, wanted to make Taito a wholly owned subsidiary.[22] To accomplish this goal, Square Enix merged Taito into SQEX Corporation.[22] Although the combined company took on the name "Taito Corporation", it was actually Taito that was dissolved and SQEX that was the surviving entity.[22]

I love Taito. Stellar games. Stellar music. Cool hardware in the early 90s. Hilarious Engrish.
Extremely good shoot-em-ups. RayForce is a 10/10 game.

>>4105442
I tried it with some friends. It's super jank.
but oh boy is it good looking (which is probably why it never got a port -- it feels old compared to the other stuff being released in 1994/1995, and it was too good looking to backport to a 16-bit machine)

>>4106249
Oh yeah, Cameltry is ace.

Bought a Taito collection for PS2 on a whim back in the day.
That Elevator Action sequel was boss as fuck.
Freaking adored it. Probably what triggered my /vr/ love.
