Kind of a shame since 3 looked the best of the Refine versions as they actually rescanned the PS1 assets instead of filtering PC98 ones.
I don't recall any issues running it on Windows 7 either.

Every game after the 2nd one is varying degrees of meh, although I haven't played the 5th one. The problem is, is they got rid of all the fun shit, like adventuring and concentrated on the child rearing part and the VN stuff.

That really depends on who you ask.

I think 2, 3, and 5 are the ones I see most often cited as the best. Personally I haven't played 5 so I can't comment on it, but I prefer 3 to 2 slightly.

The trade off is that the vn stuff is done better. You lose a lot of breadth but gain a fair bit of depth.

Though if you don't like the writing it completely falls apart since there's now no adventuring to fall back on.
