Gentlemen, I present: Vidya Land - The Comeback.

In this scenario, you must revive an old game styled park. You don't have alot of space so make the best of it (64x64) (JAGUARxJAGUAR) and it already includes some rides.

At the end of Year 6, you need at least 5000 guests in your park to win.

Lets see who can finish this first.

It seriously improved a lot of things. Well, it implemented a bunch of things so obvious and useful that I now find it hard to believe RCT2 couldn't do them. The same way I've been playing RCT2 and can't believe RCT didn't even have the shift key thing.

>> No.411654

My main complaint with RCT2 is that there is SO MUCH THEMING, but there is also arbitrary limits on how much you can have in one park.

With the scenario editor, you can only have 128 Large bits of scenery, which isn't usually a problem unless you have the expansion packs. BUT, with the small scenery you are limited to 255(?) objects, which sounds like a lot but as soon as you add a few expansion theming sets you're out of objects as they have like 80-130 objects each.

I want a hack that lets me build everything RCT has to offer, so i can build my disneyland park.

It's a reverse-incline shuttle. Basically, it starts by being pulled back in reverse on that completely vertical ramp (on the left). When it hits the top, the chain lift releases, and the car goes down, flying back through the station, going through all the loops and inversions until it runs out of speed, and gravity pulls it back through those loops in reverse, through the station one more time, up that vertical to slow it down, then back to the station where it lets off

Another neat trick is the Ctrl key. Lets say you want to build a row of base blocks 10ft above ground for a roof or something, and you already have one up.

1) Mouse-over (dont click) the piece already in the air.
2) Hold the Ctrl key, then move the mouse (not click-dragging) towards the direction you want to build in.
3) You should now see a ghost piece pop up indicating that you're going to place that piece in mid-air, level with the first piece. Now you click to place it.

And repeat!

Alright, so I made some new park maps because someone mentioned there's too much space between maps and it was very true.

The new parks are 25x25 and have 5 blocks of space between them, giving you guys more chances to twist coasters around and such, also to make it look less like SimCity5.

On top of that, it comes in three sizes now: 2x2 for quick multiplayer games, 3x3 for normal games and 4x4 for extended games. I uploaded them all and posted the links to the Google doc. I'm willing to start one of the new ones... maybe the 2x2 to start off the new ones. If anyone wanna gets involved, then feel free to get in on it

Here's the stats.
>dat excitement
I never posted them because the RCT craze had died down by the time I someone actually finished the ride. Also, the running time in the stats is probably wrong; I labelled all of my save files with how long the ride had been going, and the one immediately before this one was named "107h7m". That also roughly agrees with the in-game time of the ride being open which is 105 years (!!!) and afaik 1 IRL hour = 1 ingame year.

Anyways, here's the save file. I can't guarantee that this link will be around forever so I suggest uploading it somewhere else.

Unfortunately, it seems that two of the parks have been on a long hold at the moment.

I'd really be interested in
a) having a bigger area each, and more time - maybe twice the space and 3-5 years?
b) Find a way to make it more cooperative. Right now, every player has their 30x30 or whatever area, which is fun, but I'd really like to end up with a whole park that kind of fits together.

Would anyone be interested in playing a park like that? No set areas per player, but maybe a 3 or 4 year limit, so on the 31st of october you stop, no excuses, even if you're halfway through a coaster, and pass it on. In that time, you can take as much space as you want.
