It's okay OP. These people can't handle the idea that you'd grab something that used to be sold regularly. One day they might figure out that some people just enjoy the games and they'll try to add something to the conversation instead of bitching about someone else's collection.

What's the problem with PAL and PlayStation? The ports have no differences and you actually get higher resolution and no problems that NotTheSameColor has. Also you can use RGB/SoL cable with any SCART TV.

I recently picked up a super famicom with Seiken Densetsu 2 and 3. My everdrive still probably has a week and a half to arrive. Depending on my spare funds i may pick up Super Mario Rpg and Kirby's Dreamland 3 imports soon. Also wish the super famicom controllers had cords as long as the pal or US ones...

>> No.4014174

Not much, rarely buy stuff nowadays since prices have skyrocketed. Recently though at a flea market I found a guy selling some import stuff. I got rockman 2, 3, and 4 for a price of $50 total. He had 5 but that was $50 alone. I'm a big megaman fan and that price for the three of them was too good to pass up.

>>4014158
Why did you grab copies of SD2 and SD3 if you have an everdrive coming? I get why you would want kirby and smrpg since it can't play those but I believe it runs both the SD games fine. Collectors items?

Have a super everdrive myself, shit's pretty good. Still need to get a casing for it.

Also rockman 5 is probably priced that way due to its US prices, when i order imports its usually around 6$ loose before shipping and proxy commission. Unless it was the complete works for Playstation (really nice case artwork on those).

How does PAL lag? 50Hz is not lag. You don't seem to know what "lag" means.

Not a problem on the PlayStation. One of the reasons it became so popular in PAL regions and wiped Nintendo out in the first place (non shitty PAL ports).

And the problem in Europe isn't the 50hrz, because the Super Famicom, Super NES or Super Nintendo have all the same processeur.

The problem comes from different resolutions between PAL and NTSC. And that some programmer from NTSC areas did not make the effort to adapt the resolution to PAL format.

>PAL just has a lower cap to frames, 50 instead of 60?
You are absolutely right.
That difference is not that easy to even tell, it's bad ports that slow the game down 20% instead of making the game run 10FPS lower that make it seem worse, like the posted video. Also bad ports usually didn't take advantage of the higher resolution, especially on older consoles. This was not an issue with latter consoles that had proper games that took advantage of the resolution and could even play in PAL mode at 60Hz when your TV supported it.

Picked these lovelies up from a fleamarket seller who seemed very confused about what she had. About 28 euros altogether. Not the best deal, but certainly not the worst.

The lady had something like thirty or forty "nintento tapes" for sale, MD and NES carts, large majority of which were obvious cheap repros. Prices were all over the place. Like she hadn't so much looked up prices on ebay but tacked the labels on according to how much she liked the cover or something. Wonder Boy was a fucking steal.

Weird lady. She got all cagey and evasive when I tried to ask her about the games. Maybe she stole them.

The difference between 50 and 60hz is minimal. Just play a game on pc and alternatively lock the framerate at 50 and 60 and see if you can spot the difference (granting you monitor can handle arbitrary framerates). The slowness of some PAL ports came from poor programming where game logic was tied to framerate, with a proper point you can't tell the difference. Also, most 32bit titles ran at 30 pr less anyway (much NTSC Ocarina of Time at silky smooth 20fps).
