Anyone misses the day when old video games were inconsistent in their character designs. Like how Mario and Luigi's shirts and overalls colors would switch from Mario 1 to 2, the hair colors of the Lee brothers switching between the arcade and console versions, or the entire design of Simon Belmont? I thought it was kinda cool how there was no definite take on a character and the designers could revamp the characters to their liking between games.

Found it. I'm guessing this was sculpted before they worked on the promo art by Yoichi Kotabe and they never bother to change the hair color for the final game.
