sell me on explaining deus ex to you. why is it worth my time?

The first time I played it I hated it because of the aiming mechanics, which to this day I still think is unfun at low levels. I also don't like "ghosting" games so I never got good at the stealth in this game.

If you're like me, you're going to want to find the laser sight on the first level (explore the whole level 'til you find it) and put it onto your pistol. You can put it on anything, but the pistol is what I put it on and it worked fine. Once you install the laser sight, your bullets will hit where the laser is pointing regardless of how wide your crosshairs are, and you can now play it like a shooter. I like playing it like a shooter.

If you don't like missing secrets but don't want to invest points into hacking/lockpicking, you can hit escape to pause the game in the middle of a hack... and leave it paused for however long you think the unlock will take, and it will be done with one tool instead of several tools upon unpausing.

Worst case scenario, cheat and give yourself max skills in everything and still play through the game. 'Cuz the story is really good, and the gameplay is really fun once you have enough points in the skills you use a lot. But the beginning is a drag, especially if you're not a fan of stealth or slow paced gameplay, and nobody worth caring about will give you shit for that. You can always play it again legit once you're into it, but you gotta get into it first right?
