There's one with the Phalanx guy (which is just the older, bitter version of Trevor). The artist also made a Popful Mail 3d model, but I don't think that was updated.

Doomguy would be a good choice there, but I don't know if you could do a good low poly nontextured model for him that brings across his facial expressions.

OH, I would also suggest the Harrier as well. From Space Harrier. Gotta have the coolest Sega rep there.

And if we were to talk about lolis, I can hear some saying Roll should rep /vr/ but she could also rep /m/ and she's not exclusively retro either.

While creating /vr/ Fighters models I noticed something: almost them all wear red.

Of course, Nintendo would had a character, the classic short mustachioed man, [/spoiler]Wario[/spoiler].

One of the girls would be Mail, from Popful Mail, while I was undecided between Marina (Mischief Makers) and Umihara Kawase for the other one.

I went with Mail's PC Engine colors to avoid another character wearing red.
Someday I'll go back to it.

But man, I do love some Karnov. The current Tre/vr/, jaded, old, ugly and fat should resemble Karnov in some ugly way.

Actually, if you want to pick someone other than Mail or Rami, I'd recommend Asha from Monster World 4. Popular, not overrated, cute, and doesn't wear red like Mail and Rami does.
