I've played the Doom games, back in the day, but never beaten one. Does that make me a loser? I did play and beat the Dark Forces games...but Doom was just a bit too scary for me.

However I did beat Doom 3.

Try playing old WADS, but pick simple ones, not the likes of Hell Revealed and such

Now, regarding the "minimap on screen"...such thing doesn't exist, but mainly because they all are used to check for the map using TAB. And I mean, even in 2013 there's no mod that helps the guys with motion sickness problems

Yes, the game is completely different on PC, especially with source ports and such enhancing it. ZDL (it's a launcher), Zandronum/GZDoom (Source ports, these allow you to play the games in modified engines with modern features), and the DOOM 1/2 IWADs are a good place to start.

>>390882
No. But seriously, google, type word provided. Takes 5 seconds, depending on typing speed/internet connection...

Or, make 5-6 posts on 4chan talking about how you don't know exactly what the fuck something is, wasting your own time, wasting our thread bump limit (Which clearly I care a lot about, because I'm making this post. That's sarcasm, I know, doesn't work well over text, but some people do care.) and the answerers time.

Now, if he'd asked, say, "why won't it load x.wad when I do x y z?", and didn't know, for example, the difference between a PWAD and an IWAD, that's a completely acceptable question. Do we all know the answer? Is it simple as shit to us? Sure. But it's not intuitive, and it's not retard proof, and I'm happy to help with issues like that.

I'm genuinely curious how this person functions in the real world. And for the record, if some old person asks me a question like that, I'd answer, nicely. But if they asked me that while holding their fancy smartphone, I'd first answer, then probably show them how to find the information themselves on their fancy smartphone nobody took the time to educate them on.

>Because being an old person existing in a technological world and being ignorant is exactly the same as being on 4chan and not knowing how to internet

Nice, but the sprites could use some work.
I mean, they all should be of similar size, as the players should have similar radius, in order to make gameplay fair.
Also, the karts should be as wide as long, because the only things' dimensions are height and radius. While they don't have length and wideness, and collisions should cover with sprite sizes.

>> No.392703

Spriteguy here. I am working on the sprites (right now). They're different sizes on purpose. It's possible to have an asymmetrical, but balanced game. If you wanted it to be completely fair we'd have to have them be the same speed weight and acceleration. Size is just another attribute.

I'm not making them as long as they are wide, because that would require serious redesigns, and since I'm keeping them using doom sprites, and in doom style it wouldn't look normal anyway. Dooms collision was never terrible accurate anyway, and they're not a lot longer than wide right now anyway.

Got 3 spells in, they are costly enough and subject to change, they are practical, some of them not available by default power ups. Mechanic Overdrive; Double Firing Speed. All Seeing Eye; Reveal map and actors. Bullet Time; Time Freeze. All last around 30 seconds or less. Gonna add a short lasting decoy thingy.

Got Power Modes for every weapon so far, they drain Cells on use. Also pictured, screw Caw Hammer, its 444 or Betty both consume Shells. Also boosted default carry limits but some guns use 2-3 bullets per shot.

I liked Power Modes, it sounded like a bad idea at first, Bk13s shoot bouncing rounds, Betty shoots 2 solid slugs that pierces everything but walls, you pull a second HS010... etc.

1: OP as shit. I'm not even exaggerating. The VII for Caleb is stupidly powerful, and is glitched into giving you umpteen gazillion points whenever it's picked up. His Flare Pistol alone has an altfire with every blast as powerful as a rocket. Oh and he also starts with the Doom Fist and Doom Pistol for some reason, and when he runs out of ammo he swaps to them. Likewise, IP Freeley massacres everything without any care in the world with all the explosives.

2: Terribly inaccurate to their source games. Wrong sprites, wrong damage values, wrong times, wrong names, wrong everything. It's just wrong. They don't play a thing like their original game, someone just took the sprites and sounds and slapped them on--hell, often got them mixed up, too!

3: Very few of the effects have +CLIENTSIDEONLY or +NOINTERACTION on them, which basically means they can lag out the server with enough of them.

4: The creator has stated he intentionally wants them to be more powerful than the others so that everyone will play them. This is a fucking terrible attitude to have.

5: Glitchy out the ass.

Sure, you can say they're fun. They may very well be fun. But they are not well made by any stretch of the imagination.
