Still the best JRPG ever imo

What is your go to party of 3?
What time period did you like best?
What is your favourite tech move?

It's too easy to be that.

>> No.3891492

>>3891491

Not at all. It's not like you can just mash attack to win boss battles like most modern RPG's.

Also a game doesn't have to be 'super hardcore!!11!' to be in consideration for the best

>>3891491
it's easy, but hard jrpgs means grinding and healing every other turn and basically just suck ass

>> No.3891635

Way too overrated. I did compel myself to finish the game a couple of times, but had no desire to revisit it after that. Like other anons have said many times before, it's too damn easy.

I don't think an increased-difficulty ROM hack would sustain my interest either. I didn't care for the characters or the setting that much. It was like taking part in a cookie-cutter anime series.

Which fanbase is worse, EarthBound or Chrono Trigger?

Earthbound. At least Chrono Trigger isn't a half-baked Dragon Quest clone with plagiarized music.

Crono, Marle and Frog. Mostly for feeding heals to Crono for a tiny fraction of MP with the right equipment is way too good to pass.

Antiquity. Short but Corridors of Time is worth it

Omega Flare looks the coolest of the lot but just about anything with Robo will do

Agreed.

As I self insert as Crono, I choose Lucca and Marle for ultimate cuties team. If I want to dominate, Crono-Ayla-Robo.

12000BC ... the music is so good ... and floating islands takes me back to Laputa: Castle in the Sky.

I forgot to mention the True JRPG connoisseur starter pack!
SaGa Series
Metal Max Returns
Shin Megami Tensei
A smug disdain for plebs who choose to play anything else.

Always make sure to mention at least one of these games in every JRPG thread to remind others that you have superior taste for hating 95% of what everyone else plays.

Stay patrician.

Back in the day, you can just ask for them and they would mail them to you for free. I have no idea why, as one does have to have an internet connection to play/use the game, but it was nice they offered to do so. Sorry for using the old pics made for a different thread, just wanted to use a pic with Chrono Trigger on it for this thread.

When RO was first released I was on dialup and it cut out after 2 hours online. That's probably why they mailed the discs. Real cool to see them, thanks.

Loading times for opening the menu, loading times for picking attacks, loading times for battles on top of the slow-ass transitions, loading times for cut-scenes, loading times for bloody everything, loading times for loading times.

It was basically an emulator running on the PSX instead of an actual port and it made the game extremely tedious and slow to play.

>> No.3894937

>>3894872
there's like a .5 second delay when loading into a battle, and other than that it's perfectly fine, and you get anime cutscenes.

>> No.3894947

Crono Frog Robo.

It's a game about time travel. Of course I'm going to run with a goofy speaking magic knight and a robot, and the game generally offers enough healing items (+ the small amounts of healing that Robo and Frog can do) to make the party usable.
