What was the best deal you've ever got on a game?

Pic related, the value village near me prices every snes game at $5 no matter what it is. Got this, along with Mario Kart, Link to the Past and Mario All-Stars.

Lunar - Eternal Blue for free, complete sans the foam rectangle bit. Unless it came with extra swag, in which case, I just gave the case, manual, inserts, and game.

Tron Bonne from fucking Gamestop for like $9.

A gigantic Phantasy Star Online poster and SNES game copier for £5

Damn, I love clueless people, I think it was a parent getting rid of her sons stuff that he left behind when moving out.

>> No.389869

I used to work in a game store. People brought in rare stuff to trade for store credit all the time; somehow they got store credit paid for in cash instead.

Basically, imagine getting at least half of your video game library for the same price that Gamestop would give in store credit. It's kind of like that. Game that just came out three weeks ago for $18? Sure, why not. Rare as fuck JRPG for $3? Okay. Never got caught because my DM was too busy playing MMORPGs.

>> No.391087

I honestly wonder how the hell some of this shit happens to cartridges. That's one clean hole so it sure as fuck isn't accidental, and there's no sprue around it so it's probably not a factory defect. What the hell?

Sounds likely, tho there used to be a guy with a stall in the Indoor market in my town, (Ayr, scotland) that sold cheap cd's, and a lot of them had a drilled or hacksaw cut hole on the hinge edge of the box, always wondered if he knew someone that distributed them, that maybe "accidentally" damaged a few and passed them on cheap.....

When I made a thread about it a week ago, people said stores such as Blockbuster used to do this to put the games on hooks on walls for display.

Also, I've cleaned it up since this pic was taken, disregard the dirtiness. The game works fine too.
