Oh and this is Openemu interface for anyone wondering... It let you create playlists for games collections regardless of the system you emulate

For example you can create a Mario playlist with Gb Nes and snes titles grouped together and launch them from there

Downside is in the experimental build of Openemu, the mame core is MAME 0.149.1 and Openemu will only dl artwork for consoles like Snes Genesis etc so you have to do it on your own
Same goes for adding the bios and files that are sometime required for a particular game to work

Majority of arcade games works flawlessly and the artworks are on the emuparadise page so..

The playlists system is really nice and the app is very unique for a non frontend one

IIRC that old game had a rotary joystick. Meaning you move with it, but the top half could rotate allowing you to select your shooting direction. In MAME there should be a control list for that game's controls that has some sort of rotary control. I forget what it's called, but it's the same thing you would see in the game Heavy Barrel.
It's clumsy as hell in MAME, but it's doable. Just have a couple of buttons being increase and decrease for that thing, remove mouse support if it's done, and then move with one set of movement controls, rotate with the two buttons and shoot with the last two buttons.
It's a little bit of a hassle, but for Heavy Barrel and SAR, it's worth it.

I always had a soft spot for Devil World. No, not the early NES maze game that Nintendo refused to localized in order to avoid offending Christians, but a Gauntlet-clone by Konami that starred an Indiana Jones knockoff and a hot reporter. It's not a masterpiece, but I like the aesthetic and style of Konami's arcade games from that era.

The U.S version, Dark Adventure (which may had been the original version), has 3P co-op and a less linear design, but it's broken as hell. Your life gets drained much faster and the player characters wield melee weapons instead of guns. It's pretty much a mindless quarter muncher compared to the JP and World versions of the game.

>> No.3860094

May as well ask here, I keep asking about this game again and again, and I still have yet to get the name of this fucking game:

It was some weird 2D overhead action arcade game, you played as some chibi wolf/tiger dude with a sword and a headband, and you went through mazes structured almost like a Zelda 1 dungeon, some rooms had minigames, one of which I recall had you hitting cannons with your sword to shoot octopi coming down at you space invaders style.

The game was a lot of fun and I want to play it again.
