I think it's the atmosphere and characters that I like in JRPGs more than anything.

Persona's cast is probably the best out of the other Megami Ibunroku games. You get a really good feel for all of their characters in-between areas of dungeon crawling and get a nice variety of party members doing the main run or Snow Queen route. The game never stops for more than a minute to flesh out something that would take 4 a few hours to do. The combat is really unpolished, but I enjoy the grid system and just how flexible the characters are with Persona.

Soul Hackers has some pretty cool characters too, but I really love the 90's Virtual Reality setting and fast-paced combat. That, and being rewarded with a better ending for doing a second playthrough is pretty neat.

I guess this is close to my current favorites, although it's pretty difficult to choose just nine games.

I'm kind of cheating with Bomberman Collection since it's three titles in one. I just can't pick a single title.

Way too much Dragon Quest. I lost interest after the second game. I might be in the minority here, but I liked SF2 more than the first game. Demon's Crest is very underrated, as are the other two Gargoyle's Quest titles.
