There's a limited number of old consoles in existence and more will never be created, so every time I see a fancy modification I get a little sad.

Although cartridges there's probably millions more of and this does look cool

Nice. Would buy for Everdrive

And reproduction cartridges just continue that dream...but yeah, I think all consoles will eventually die.

I have never understood the appeal of "clear" things like this, it doesn't look good imo, I don't get why they were so common with Game Boys and shit.

it looks a bit ugly because you can see the resistors. i think a colourful clear like the ps2 controllers are nice

Is that solid acrylic except for the PCB area? Surprisingly sexy.

>>3785515
I believe Nintendo did that to more easily spot bootleg games, post Pokemon.

Clear plastic is brittle as shit compared to normal opaque plastic. That thing WILL crack sooner or later.

In that case, just make a gold-ish label and stick a different RPG into the shell.

i've never heard that word before, i just think for those used to clear and it being a gameboy or controller it sticks out. i like resistors, but it sticks out

This is very pretty. I wish I had something like that. Alas, to custom make acrylic like that would be too costly for me (poverty). The NES one is my personal favorite of the series of games. Does the chips get hot in use in such a confined space (I know the original Famicom cartridges didn't have as much airspace as NES carts, but it doesn't seem to have seams which may let a bit of air through)?

>>3785864
Yeah, knowing how clumsy I am I'd probably find a way to scratch it, probably just from actual use causing this to become opaque alongside constantly wiping off my fingerprints. It is pretty as a display piece.
