To this day I cannot objectively find a better story-driven game.
And believe me I tried.
The year 2000 was the peak of vidya.
Majora's. THPS2. FFIX. CC. Vagrant Story. Those five games alone are absolute monsters.
Fitting it was about 18 years after the crash, and now 18 years later are basically in another crash, artistically.

This era gives me Modern Bubsy, possibly the most moe videogame character ever devised. I can't complain.

The dark version that you actually are is dead though. Only the light versions go on living because you revived them.

Wild Arms actually has some pretty serious feels in it. Monster Rancher 2 has some fucking feels. Mother has them feels. Phantasy Star IV. Breath of Fire IV.

Logically, shouldn't you be the one to kill yourself? I bet you cry a lot (inside) when your dad sends you to your room because you're mediocre at school, you baby. Guess what, you're an underachieving loser because you're not an emotionally confident and well-adjusted person such as OP.

The story is retarded, but the music makes me feel like I GET IT if that makes sense? Like it's retarded, but I can get the feels that the devs wanted me to feel.

Except for the text at the end about impregnating the Earth, that was retarded.

>> No.3717850

Surprised there's been no mention of Illusion of Gaia/Time. The feels are strong with that one in every location you go to, let alone roast piggy.

Lufia 2's ending
Lunar 2's 'false' ending
Elemental Gearbolt(your whole job is to fuck everything up, including the prince your character considered a friend)

He didn't know her parents were both dead, that's the tragedy, he genuinely wished the best thing for her even though he knew he would never see her again which is very romantic in itself, it fits into the whole game's theme of recurring tragedy happening to good people.
It's a bit similar to Lorenta's story in a way with the morale being that what you genuinely think is best for your loved ones might not be the best thing after all, neither for them nor for you, though this can be applied to many people in the game, even Belenus and Arngrim.

I think it's actually canon that that kid and his dad end up being really successful fisherman and live a good life after that actually.
