It's not even about the console war. It's just the fact that Sega just plain doesn't have much to bring to the table. All of its games feel like the Great Value brand of their day. Sure you get games and they cost less, but the quality is generally lower and often times will just leave you unsatisfied wishing you had gone for something you actually wanted instead. The Genesis is a good console to turn to if you have burnt a lot of other options out, but as a primary focus? Nah. C64/NES/SNES/GB/GBC/TG16/PS1 are all just plain better. Hell... I might even go as far as to say the Sega Master System is superior to the Genesis..

What's a genre? Genesis library isn't exactly small. If you just ask for general MUST PLAYS you're just going to get the same games everyone's already heard of, like Sonic, Snatcher, Ecco, Shinobi III, etc.

99% of the good games, especially the good ones, came from Japan (because those xenophobes did not like working with foreign developers).
The Super Famicom was very popular in Japan. The Mega Drive wasn't.
The Super Famicom got big support from Japanese developers. The Mega Drive didn't (get super big support. It still got games. Especially due to Sega of Americas influence.).

But I agree with you about the falseflag, I'm tired of seeing "i was a nintendo kid and missed on sega, reccommend some titles" threads. It's just a way to make false flag "nintendo kids were dumb who never played anything sega", when in reality a lot of us were either idorts, or played lots of both sega and nintendo due to friends/cousins/etc

I just played through Popful Mail a week ago and I can say it is not anywhere near the quality of most SNES games. The game is not good. I have been looking forward to playing it for years and I just left disappointed. It just is not a good game.

It's like a crappy version of NES Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers. The only reason anyone pretends it's good is because of the pic the OP posted. They like Popful's cute breasts.
