I just picked up pic related.

Any ideas for cool projects I could use it for?

raspi zero case maybe?

That was my first thought.

Maybe dremel holes for USB and HDMI and cannibalize a USB to PSX controller adaptor to install native ports. Could probably fit a Li-ion battery in there too for portability.

The native ps1 ports probably won't fit because the steelbook is too thin. You should just dremel out holes for the USB ports and connect the usb to ps1 adapters outside of the case. This way you also leave more room in the case for batteries / bluetooth / storage memory.

Nah - he'd just need to do a good job jb welding them to the aluminum.

I'm gonna do some dead reckoning and see what I come up with.

Maybe pick up some shitty steelbook movie to mock it up beforehand.

The Pi Zero isn't the best at emulating PSX, it can be a bit slow, but it would make a good project on the principle of honoring the PSX.

I nabbed the case and leaflet only. Some millennial had already used the PSN voucher (whatever that is)

Pi3 with lakka does it very well, but the pi3 is going to be a bit tight in that case. You will likely have to unsolder the USB and Ethernet port to get it to fit

You should be able to buy one that has headers/pads only I presume

I tried looking for the Canadian locale of this page and it doesn't exist. So I think it's just the bong version that isn't out of stock.

It's even funnier when you realize it was released in 2015.

You could try playing PSOne games with it.
