D2X-XL also has a bunch of fancy GL effects and such, also the development versions almost have had problems and weird graphical glitches for me.
If I had to compare it to anything, it'd be more like GZDoom than anything else.
DXX-Rebirth is somewhere between Chocolate and PRBoom+, more accurate to vanilla but with a modern renderer for modern systems.

quake mapping question
clipping staircases, yes or no?
I have 64 unit tall staircases with 8x12 unit steps, all of them are clipped as you can see on pic to avoid jerky movement when walking on them, my issue here is that steps may be a bit too steep, when standing on them, player will slowly slide down, also when transitioning from slope onto flat platform there is some sort of slight "landing" effect
any advice on that?

Ain't made sprites in a while, got some new tricks. All the clay models look pretty thick, but usually models are more realistically proportioned, or just thinner in general, but you can inflate them a bit with the displace modifier if there's no gaps. Also I think we better recognize things if their heads are bigger so I gave her a fat head.

1. Fear of doing something bad, in case its the fear of any newbie mapper, in their case its the fear of do something that it doesn't honor Prime series, Valiant Itself feels like a "metroid" megawad already in most parts

2. Do something that would probably affect Metroid and Doom community, its Nintendo of America and Reggie is a fucktard.

3. Lack of interest due to Laziness, lack of planning or unity, the community itself is pretty much divided as doom was before. mainly due to the the prime x SM discussion

in fact both G/QZdoom supports pretty much everything by now.

Tl;DR there's nothing stopping them or even us in doing so, but the lack of interest, and in their case, Ebenizer Reggiscrooge Haunting them, pretty much kills it.
