Tell me /vr/

What mods can you do for a NES?

I mean hardware mods. Not panting the shell another color

>> No.367386

Dual mono, true stereo, RGB, Component, S-Video you know simple shit like that OP

Extreme mode: Could put in a CopyNES. That's a bit crazy though. Not really as useful anymore with the proliferation of emulators and rom collections.

The hardest part is getting the actual PPU for a reasonable price but the rest is a cakewalk if you know what you're doing.

Elaborate. I know that the regular RGB mod basically slaps on the PC10 PPU onto the NES, which results in ridiculously bright and inaccurate colors. Is there a mod that would clean up the image while still retaining the NTSC colors?

Loosen the screws, assuming you've opened it up.

Got news for ya. I replace my NES pins and don't even have to push the game down into the lower level of the console to play.

Just push it in horizontally and power on. (sounds like my last date)

I know of a few mods that decrease the brightness (not terribly difficult), but I'm not sure how much you can actually do about the color.

Yeah, but then when I put the top back on it doesn't lock down again. Is there a 'correct' way of doing it?

PC10 PPU uses a different palette so it's not really fixable without finding another source of NES compatible PPUs
