Does anyone have any comfy pictures of old rooms with video game cartridges lying around, family living rooms with a console hooked up to a big CRT etc.?

Also, can you vividly recall the sound of pic related?

Yes there was a time for all of us when that kid was a "bigger boy" to us.

And remember when you were about 13 and all the girls in your year were about a foot taller than you?

That shit fuck with your head...

That picture is retarded. The sound they make? You couldn't even shuffle through those, as you'd stick your hand down the middle and nothing would move because all the other carts would be in the way.

I don't really have any photos of myself playing consoles when I was younger. We didn't have a main console set up at the TV until I'd already left middle school, it was pretty much just me and a gameboy, and later a gameboy color.

Thankfully pokemon and the zelda oracle games had a great amount of content. Not to mention mario land, and mario land 2.

I don't think there's even a photo of me with the gameboy which is sad.

My parents were Academy Award-winning actors when it came to downplaying whether or not they managed to get the big gift for Christmas each year. They swore up and down they weren't able to find a Nintendo 64 and made us promise not to be too disappointed. I'm so glad we still have the video of me and my younger brother (I think I was like 12 and he was 9) opening the N64 Christmas morning and losing our tiny minds.

This. It was a time when video games were the new thing that would rot your kid's brain, and I imagine a lot of parents just kind of said "Come on, why don't you go outside and play?!" before they got the camera ready and hoped the vidya phase would pass.

I bet there aren't a lot of photos of kids watching Power Rangers.

Here's a classic found online from the archaic year 1978. A Fairchild Channel F, massive wood console TV, and kids right out of "Dazed and Confused".
