Seen mk2, mk3, maximum carnage, golden axe and aladdin complete for $10 each. This made me think about getting back into retro. Whats /vr/ thoughts on these prices?
Also had streets of rage 2 but they wanted 40, and i couldnt see the price on bloodlines. Prices are canadian btw.

10 Moosecoints, which equals to about 7,5 normal money for CIB games in this day and age?
Sounds really good to me.

Just emulate, as it may not incur any additional cost to you. As you can see, crap is $10 and non-crap is $40. The costs can add up.

I would likely still emulate the more expensive titles but it just doesnt make me feel nostalgic like the physical copy does.
After looking on ebay most of the morning, I plan on going back to the pawn shop this afternoon to pick up some of the cheaper games.

For the cost of those you could get a $39 flash cart off Amazon and have every Genesis, SMS, and 32x game.

Super common games the cost of some new PC games. Bleh.

You dont enjoy having a nice looking physical collection in your game area?

I could play Mk2, Mk3 and Aladdin on an old PC, for fewer moosecoins.

And Super Street fighter 2, Sonic 3, and Comix Zone.

But when I tried doing that, icefreaks didn't want to sell me a computer below 1 ghz, because they were officially useless and scrap. Which makes little sense, CPUs generally have much less gold than the $40 worth that a pentium pro contains.

Yeah genesis games are getting pricey for some reason, even though everyone hated them.
I'd just avoid 16-bit altogether at this point.
try again in a decade.

SoR2 is like 20 bucks complete on eBay.

I decided to take the plunge and give the Chinese bootlegs a try. I purchased this monstrosity for the sole reason when I do not want a bootleg touching any of my 7 Genesis/Mega Drives (and as a temporary NES, until I can afford on that HDMI or RGB). For $23 shipped, I am going to experiment if I can have any satisfaction with a stack of bootlegs by this machine: Mega Man: The Wily Wars, Twinkle Tale, Panorama Cotton, Pulseman, and Battlemania: Daijinjou. As prices for even Genesis games, which no one wants, surprisingly rise and a X7 Everdrive is out of my affordability range (the added features seem really cool, like large hacks, potential FM sound for Master System, and be a SegaCD backup cart).

It is risky dealing with Chinks but the Genesis was the poverty system and they will find I have nothing to steal. I will report back in a couple months (assuming they do arrive in that time) if a bootleg setup is comfy to me.

Can you post a link to where that's $23 shipped? I want to try it too.

Most games can still be found complete for under $40. They're rising but they're far from pricey outside of a few exceptions. Saturn however is pretty much a money sucking blackhole if you try to collect for it now even when it comes to importing some more well known games.

Another anon pointed me out to aliexpress. Which sounds China-quality as fuck, and I'd recommend the 2 months wait in case I get scammed by some Chinaman. Also I do understand these Chinese repros are fake and I know not to let them go into circulation to pollute the pool of actual Genesis games. That's why they are solely for that abomination clone console.

Too bad ebay doesn't do that even though the bootleg Genesis games stick out like a sore thumb.
