A lot of them had QUALITY issues with the face.

I liked ss2 mainly for the nostalgic feels it gave me. Tldr every Friday in middle school me and a few buddies went to a pizza place and got food while playing the shit out of each other in samurai showdown 2 until the place closed down

Though 4 was pretty cool as well and is a close second

2 and 5S are the only ones worth playing. 3 is a mere curiosity if you wanna see the edgiest installment.

2 is my favorite, but it gotta check out 4. 3 did feel kind of weird and edgy.

Can someone tell me their emu setup to get those three running? emu & release number and bios used? I keep trying different bios' and mame vers and I cant get the fucking games working

How is SS6? Sheer variety makes me kinda want to try it, but nobody talks about it, so i'm worried.

SS6 loses a lot of the dark atmosphere that the older games had. It's meant to be a festival dream match, but it's no KOF 98 in terms of gameplay or balance either. It doesn't help that the Neo-Geo imported sprites look awful against the Atomiswave high resolution backgrounds.

Still it's fun to play with some friends once you get past that. Just bring your expectations to say, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum level, and you'll have fun with it.
