I kinda feel the same way. There's like 150 or so amazing saturn games, but only about 700 or so games released in total. The PS1 may have thousand(s?) but I never see anyone name drop more than a handful of the usual games. It wouldn't surprise me if there's really only 100-200 games really worth the time on the PS1.

There are. That is precisely the negative point that some people don't get about PS1. Even if you have different tastes, the PS1 had several shit games for every LE-GEM. For every truthfully stellar game on PS1, they had 100 - 200 piles of shit.

Saturn and 64 hard far less games overall, but far less complete and total shit in between the gems and must haves.

Also worth noting that PS1 had a good portion of the best games on another system or pc, those versions were the definitive versions in most cases, making the PS1 version useless junk as well. Furthering the pile of shit known as PS1s catalog

Side note here. I liked the PS1, Saturn and 64 equally. I just try not to ignore the obvious.

I only look down on the n64 because despite the number of truly amazing games, the system is a fucking headache. I think the Saturn's highs are so incredibly high that both the PS1 and N64 pale in comparison. But, just because I love my favorite system does not mean I hate the others.

i actually agree, i see alot of people listing the same 10 games, and i know everytime i went to eb games/gamestop/play n trade the ps1 section is cluttered to hell with 100 copys of madden and shit i never heard of.

but the gems are whats known to us now, resident evil 2, FF7, chrono cross, spyro and crash, einhander (cost mad ched, i just copped it off ebay last week for $120 mint conditon) and mgs1
really everyone here is posting some fine shit. and i think i have a solid selection of more shooter-oriented ps1 titles among some of the usual kid-friendly classics

yeah the games are now getting to be 20+ years old, the average "good" condition game is 10-20 dollars now. 5 years ago einhander was 50-75 for a great copy, i just had to drop over a hundred for a mint copy and 20 bucks each for mortal kombat and resident evil 1. hell even the consoles are starting to up in price

I was afraid of this. I need to get a head start on my collection before it becomes impossible to get anything at a decent price. Learned that the hard way with nes and snes. What sucks is most all of my PSx games from my childhood are lost or broken thanks to my younger brother. Love him to death but he was very irresponsible and hard on his toys.
