Let's talk about the very last era of gaming /vr/ covers. Talk about games released in 1999 or after (if they're released on /vr/ hardware, i.e Majora's Mask on N64 or Castlevania Chronicles on PS1).

Whenever I think about 1999, I remember seeing Evangelion on the N64 at a local store who had imports (owner was japanese). The graphics and overall presentation of the game shocked me. I never bought it because it was insanely expensive for me though.

Highly sophisticated PS1 game, conceptually, technically and in execution, one of Namco's peaks during 5th gen.

Winning Eleven 2002 was frequently roster-hacked and bootlegged in South America... and turns out, in Indonesia as well. Back in the day some of the bootlegs featured songs by a famous local singer and others even have the roster of local leagues. Pic related.

(Dunno if this is the right thread...)

What do you mean? I played through it on an emulator years ago, and didn't have any problems.

Eva 64 has a lot of graphical glitches on emulators.

It looked fine when I played it, which was back in 2010, or so. Something to do with the settings, maybe? I was using Project64 back then.

I actually forgot what N64 emulator I use now, but it has a Python frontend or something.

Best part of the soundtrack from NGE64

Still gives me chills when I listen to its staticky 90's orchestral rendering.
