a very difficult game. Good luck anon. The puzzles, respawning enemies (but not ammo or health) will keep you on your toes.

My guess is you wont finish it without some serious commitment and a walkthrough.

I just played it last month or so and it's not that hard. At least, not on Normal difficulty which is based on the original N64 release. The original did not have difficulty settings as I recall, and if you crank up the difficulty in this PC release, it does annoying stuff like make the enemies drop less ammo and move in fast motion.

Anyway, like I said I didn't think it was that hard. The toughest part is making sure you find all the keys so you really have to be methodical and check every cave entrance and possible side area, or you'll have to replay the whole map again looking for the 1-2 keys you missed. I think a lazy modern player might get frustrated, but anyone used to exploration-heavy oldschool FPS map design shouldn't have too much trouble as long as they're diligent. Combat is pretty simple especially once you get decent weapons. There's a LOT of platforming, but I've never had a problem with first-person platforming or understood why people whine so much about it, so that wasn't too bad either. The final level is the only one I would say is kinda grueling, but I was maxed out on lives by then so I just steamrolled through everything and tanked a lot of damage.

The overlay map is a lifesaver and will save you tons of headache especially in underground areas.

If you run into bugs just use your knife, they're a waste of ammo to kill with just about any gun but they go down in one slash.

You can bait some enemies into fighting each other, this really doesn't come into play until the last couple of levels though.

If you can collect 99 gems when you have 9 lives (iirc) you will unlock infinite lives which is really helpful for the last few levels.

On the above note, I find the platforming segments more difficult than any of the enemy encounters. Level 7 rips me a new one every time.

Overall it's a pretty good early fps with amazing atmosphere. I've always loved it for its huge levels and fun weaponry, as well as the incredible variety in enemies you face. The platforming segments are a bit of a drag but I've only ever played the N64 version, they may be improved in the remake.

Have fun!

Fucking this. Your location marker acts as a cross-hair and make the platforming sections much easier if you just focus on the map instead of the POV.

Raptors, dimetrodons, and triceratops are all I can remember. Leapers don't count as they aren't real dinosaurs. Also, you forgot the aliens.

In legal hell.

It's why mod support is almost non-existent and why steam workshop isn't being implemented.

Don't expect T2 to come with a level editor or good mod support.

You could change the difficulty in the original, and hard mode is just bullshit for the fact you play with the shitty N64 controller, the remaster has better QOL details.

Oh and the second final boss is a ride if you wasted the fusion cannon ammo

>QOL
Why is this the new meme phrase? I'm seeing people use "quality of life" all the fucking time even for things that are significant mechanical changes. QOL features are things like auto-loading the last save, not things that change how the game actually plays.

>> No.3635541

>>3635463
For most of these posters QOL is just a euphemism for "makes the game easier" without actually saying it.
