This is not the Wii U's VC and it is still better then mid 90s NES emulators for DOS.

The controllers are in even shorter supply. I got a console to-day at GameStop, but they only had 3 extra controllers, and being 6th in line, I was unable to get one. Classic Controller is better for the actual NES mini, because you can use the home button instead of the reset button to change games/quick save.

I grew up on Amstrad Schneider CPC, early PC, Arcade and LCD Handhelds, and dudes, I'm glad we are beyond that.
I just can't bear with the black backgrounds, the limited palette and the prehistoric gameplay.
16bit is the limit for me now.
I love the look and feel of my SNES Games, and I can relate to how people apreciate older stuff, but it just isn't for me anymore.

you can get the raphnet adapter for original nes to GC controller port and not need the wii remote, the circuit alone is cheaper if you can solder. works great. but I agree, the new ones are really appealing because they're mint, I just like to avoid the remotes. I might try to mod the new ones to work with an nes when more come in, there are existing boards to do this.
