Let's talk about 3D platformers. What's your favorite/least favorite one? Will they ever make a comeback?

I've recently been playing through pic related and I'm having a blast. Really underrated game.

My favorite isn't retro, but my most hated definitely is.

I played through this recently. This, Tarzan, Hercules, Dinosaur and A Bugs Life are all worth playing. The ps1 had great licensed games

Ha, I remember living through this. All the PSX mags hyping 3D platformers in development, "THIS ONE WILL BEAT MARIO 64 WE PINKY PROMISE FOR REAL THIS TIME!"

None of them ever did, let alone come close to Banjo-Kazooie. That said I really liked some of the more linear platformers the PSX had, like Crash Bandicoot, Klonoa and Tomba.

>> No.3600962

Not obscure but I've loved Banjo Kazooie since release, I don't hear much talk about Jersey Devil, but my room mate plays it here and there looks alright.

Good game but 40 winks is awesome

I'd like to play it but can't get an N64 rom to boot. I might just grab the PSX version, it looks really fun. I grabbed Banjo for the first time and it's amazing.

You should try some of the Banjo's Backpack levels if you haven't, Banjo-Dreamie is really good.

Great game; shame about that shitty draw distance

the difference between the 2 is the n64 version has different cutscenes. other than that its basically the same. also 2 player coop is good as fuck

Oh damn, if there's co-op I gotta get that working. Thanks for the heads up

No-intro collection has a 40 Winks European Proto rom.

Haven't tried it on an emulator but it boots fine on my everdrive. Pal 50 though, so you'll need a PVM if you're burger like me

>> No.3604152

Why are PSX platformers so much harder than N64 platformers?
I managed to beat Super Mario 64 and the Banjo-Kazooie games but I can't even beat the second island in Crash Bandicoot and Croc.

>>3604152
Spyro is the easiest platformer of all time though. If you want something more challenging on N64, try Conker.

Good info, I have an ED coming but I just have a normal consumer CRT so I might be outta luck. I'll see if it boots in an emulator.
