Your favorite game, instead of how it currently exists, was instead released as a SuperFX game on SNES in 1994 in all of its basic untextured polygonal glory

How is it

It looks worse than the first Air Combat and with a worse frame-rate to boot. I want out of this timeline.

better than doom 32x

>Starfox tier roll physics
>Armor is just color swaps
>Weapons are all cylinders of different lengths/diameters
>Two attack sequences - light and heavy
>Recycled assets everywhere
>Regular enemies look like simple geometric shapes
>5 bosses

Still would have been a smash hit

Fuck, Gran Turismo 2 is shit. I'd love to see Moon Over the Castle using SNES soundfont tho

It pretty much turns into this, just a bit less smooth.

So Morrowind on the Daggerfall engine? I'm surprised the mod hasn't already been made, sounds great.

Donkey Kong Country is now 3D

Hopefully they went more like Crash Bandicoot and less like Mario 64. OR they went the Yoshi's Island route with fucking gorgeous sprite work

>> No.3589869

MDK would actually be pretty interesting as a SuperFX game

>> No.3590506

Well Crazy Taxi had a GBA version so a SuperFX version on the SNES would end up being pretty similar to this.

It'd pretty much be the same thing except the stages wouldn't have textures.

Rock N Roll racing, so pretty much OP pic with a darker palate, weapons and upgrades.

In another alternate universe, Nintendo's aborted CD projects joined with the SuperFX project to give birth to a 32-bit successor to the SNES

CPU: 65GZ032 - same CPU family as NES and SNES, easy for programmers to transition and backwards compatibility with past games through expansion slot

Graphics Co-processor UltraFX - Developed by Nintendo and Argonaut as a leap forward from the SuperFX2 to assist main processor in polygon rendering and advanced sprite techniques

CD audio streaming and high storage capacity

Would this have fared better than the N64?

Feel when Nintendo would have used CDs if the disk drives had been a success.

About 99% less polygons and running at 5fps. You all have no idea how shoddy the SuperFX chip is.

Well, the GBA port didn't turn out too bad.

Would still be pretty fun if they just made it isometric like the GBA one. Like a version of 720 that was actually fun.

Probably be a total shitshow if they tried to keep the PS1 camera angle though. Probably even worse than Thrasher Skate and Destroy, and that's saying something

More like MidiMaze or Doom multiplayer if anything. Super FX fps games usually used sprite graphics.

Fun Fact: The PC game "FX Fighter" started development on the SuperFX. Thus the name.

Harvest Moon 64 on the SNES sounds too difficult. All that dialogue, the events, etc... Too much for the system even with the SuperFX chip.
