What does them working have to do with them being fakes? Actually I'm 100% sure they're repros now. The picture on the label isn't the same as the real ones. 30 seconds on google image search would tell you that. Note that on the real carts you can see a bit of his sword above the ESRB label and you can see a bit more of his chest. Repro carts have the label image cropped differently, like yours does, and also have plastic fake screws like yours.

So either you got taken for a ride or you're taking us for a ride.

Behold, my very genuine copy of Sunset Riders. Let's compare mine to yours, shall we? Here's how aspects of your copy are different:

1) Nintendo logo in corner is smaller and off-center within the margin.
2) The purple "down" arrow is placed much lower.
3) Game's serial number in the lower left is in different, thicker font, and is centered within the margin.
4) The button graphic on the right is clearly larger.
5) The Sunset Riders picture itself appears simultaneously thinner and taller.
6) The Konami's copyright symbol is larger as well as placed on the topside rather than the bottom.
7) The screws appear to be plastic, and are clearly larger than typical SNES screwheads.

So congratulations on your bootleg purchase, OP.

That's because it has a dedicated RF modulator built into it rather than relying on an external one like the Model 2/3.

That said, it's a good one. Uses the good circuit and discrete IC from the earlier Model 1s instead of the Model 2's.

Don't use RF on it though, at least get some composite cables and run stereo from the headphone port on the front. For best results, don't raise the volume slider above the 6 in order to minimize distortion.

But if you intentionally misrepresent the product you're selling and market it as the real deal you could be had for fraud, misrepresentation, selling counterfeit goods etc. If you're smart about it and word your sales carefully then it'll be hard to get any evidence against you. See the picture of the back in >>3569587.

The fact that the power connector is right at the edge rather than slide and the sizable amount of plastic to the left of the channel switch in signifies it's a VA6.5 or 6.8. Both of these use the same audio circuitry as the VA3-6 "High Definition Graphics" Models and will sound just as good. The main difference is the lack of ext port (which would go in the area next to the channel switch), lack of HDG on the case, and the TMSS screen at start up.

If it wasn't aligned with the edge, and didn't have the space where the ext port should be, then it would be a VA7, which is the shitter.

Board revisions. VA0 an VA1 are the launch Japanese Mega Drives, VA2(HDG) is the launch US Mega Drive. All of them have the same over amplification issue. VA3-5 are later "HDG" models with the ext port an all of that, and use the same fixed audio circuit. VA6 gets rid of the EXT port, but keeps the HDG logo; 6.5/6.8 get rid of the logo, but keep the audio circuit.
VA7 is essentially an early Model 2 board in a Model 1 case.

Yes, the video difference is negligible (although I can still notice it) and higan's audio emulation is great.

I'm so happy! I was walking home the other day and spotted this on the curb just two doors away from my building. I don't have a car, so the chances of me ever getting a CRT like this were slim. But it was just sitting there within spitting distance of my door, like a gift from heaven. I managed to get it home on a dolly and it's fantastic. I had a 27'' Trinitron in the early 2000s and would still love to reacquire one, but this thing is almost as beautiful. It's 32'' with one S-video input, one component, and two composite, one of which is shared with the S-video. I had been using a 14'' PVM prior, but it's so much more fun playing on such a big screen via S-video.

Just scored this for 25 bucks. I told myself I would only collect games and systems from my childhood (NES through Psx) but this just looked too cool to pass up. Once I got home and disdained research I found these things were actually marketed as game consoles and home computers back in the 80s. I can't wait to start writing some programs on it but I think I need some special cartridge. From what I've read it will run some variant of BASIC for Atari. I don't order stuff online, to be honest. I went into a Game Over Games to kill time and ended up buying that and a few other games that are less retro (Beyond Good and Evil, Me & My Katamari, Spider-Man for the PS1).

I know I can get better prices online, but at the same time, I probably wouldn't have thought to buy them until I saw them right there.

Yeah, that'd be cool. Even online prices seem to have it at 10 and with shipping it probably evens out.

I'm super pleased with Tetris Attack though, the graphics and music are top notch and it is super addicting.

I got a haul yesterday but am concerned about posting it since half this thread was bait nibbling.

She was a dirty jew cunt anyways, good on you anon. Whatever caused her to part with the cart has already washed away what little innocence you assume she had.

Holy shit man. Spend 8 bucks on a USB SNES game pad, 3-6 bucks on a really long extension cable so you can sit on the couch, and run emulators. Hory shit.

Even if your the 'cant game on pc' type you can throw in a raspberry pi for less than that and have cash left over for an awesome case for it that makes it look like a NES or something.

Hey, /vr/, how much would you value this since he's leaving the offer open? And how would one go about fixing the issue he's stating? It'd be my first time getting into arcade cabinets and repair.

Ha, that reminds me of how I used a magnifying glass and the sun to 'engrave' my initials into a few gaming items. Looks like she used a small knife and heated it up on the stove or used a lighter.
