Rate Worens:

Katt - the best by far: young, sexy, fit, loyal, not lawful, banters about you casually for fun, not annoying, best gameplay wise.

Rei - people say he's some kind of special snowflake because he happened to shelter an orphan MC, but to be quite honest, having friends was just a rough benefit for him as a savage and a lone thief, he knew it. Later he entirely committed to the idea of revenge, forgetting his friends, and his mannerism became one of those edgelords, despite him being mature as fuck. Old, good gameplay wise. 3rd best with a huge gap between him and 2nd best.

Cray - the most developed Woren. That doesn't change the fact that he's a terrible teammate who sees the world in black and white, not patient, and who despises MC. Bad gameplay. 2nd worst.

Tiga - the most responsible out of Worens, truly a hero. NPC. Tragic fate. 2nd best.

Lin - the worst by far: dumb tsundere with no character development and no gameplay in the single worst BoF game. Mannerism of a dumb anime tsundere. Retarded design.

I don't know how it was in Europe, but in the US version there were cutscenes that didn't show up unless you died and carried over the save in a NG+. The whole system, combined with the limited saves like RE, was designed to make you die a lot and restart with your stats intact so you would unlock more. It's a really dumb way to make an RPG.

People who argue about games being too different or innovatives are bad at videogames most of the time, they can't get out of the lowest denominator designs and mindset and blame the games because of their own shortcomings.
I can understand people criticizing DQ for not having the classic BoF feel, though that's the same stupid argument people use for shows like Turn A Gundam and the likes, I can understand people complaining that it doesn't play like BoF game, but saying that DQ is a bad game when it's mechanically the best and most interesting in the series by far is a sign of being a casual pleb with garbage taste.
