Little, but very angry dead girl. Suffers from Mileena-ish shark mouth, but has almost regular teeth, only marginally sharper than a regular human.

Fights with two chakram-like weapons with handles on the inner side. Outer side has several blades that can rotate like on circular chainsaw (this thing is called "Rip-Razor"). Rip-razors are bound together with a string, which allows for limited ranged attacks and retrieval.

Combat balance: Wide swipes of Razors that leave her open for a brief moment after an attack if she misses, but deal 2-4 hits if connects and staggers opponent, pushing him back (she has to pursue her opponent in that moment of stagger to continue combo, stagger gets shorter the more she hits, eliminating the possibliity of infinite looper). Special attacks involve savage leaps and slashes, and several mid-ranged attacks with stringed Rip-Razors with limited area denial options.

I actually have been tinkering with this idea for a long time. Not only make one character, but a whole fighting game. I know, it's an uncurable form of autism.

The character would simply be a collection of my favorite moves from vidya. The fighting style would be replicating the movement of ocean waves in some sense. A lot of basic normals from Yun (like that elbow strike), "sweep" punch from Dudley, maybe close knee/axe elbow from Ken/Shingo respectively.

For specials/command normals, I definitely want to have an OTG attack like Takuma's command normal from '98, an axe kick, a T.Hawk command grab—slam face down on the floor (with that OTG follow-up).

As for appearance, I have two designs… One is kinda lame, it's an old donut steel OC, a restrained but angry male character in cargo pants and loose jumper, with a big heap a of long black hair covering his face and top of the body, kinda based on the grunge look from the 2000s. Second is white-haired guy in a biker jacket, having dual personalities because of being posessed by a demon. So, twisted psycho path, yeah.

The system would be 2D, but Tekken-like, with no little to no jumping/hopping, slightly reminiscent of Art of Fighting 3. I'd also add parry-like feature, but with no timestop/stun when you parry at all. The idea is based on the games plot gimmick, "black energy", by channeling through any matter you make it harder than steel by binding molecules at place. An opposite to that, "white energy", turns any matter into plazma-like explosive substance.

I had this idea for a team based fighting game kinda like KoF a 3v3 format I have a couple teams in mind but the one I came up with first is kinda like this

First guy: He is a stance character who uses three small movesets based on a transformation type Gimmick normal state (Default stance) is balanced uses a few nifty combos has a projectile and forward rush attack (Think Burn knuckle) he is kinda a Ryu,

Stance 2 is a speed and power type it takes extra damage but can deal serious damage and darts around the arena plays like Jon Talbain from dark stalkers but lacks a projectile.

Stance 3 has better defense but is slow and uses charge moves has 3 projectiles a weak but fast one a chargeable one and a low attack one all three have cool down.

His supers would be based on the stance in use Stance 1 is a rush down combo if it hits and isn't blocked it can deal high damage if it is blocked it will quickly fill the stun guage, Stance 2 uses a guard breaking heavy damage move but it had a slow wind up and can be interrupted, Stance 3 uses a charged up super projectile more or less a Denjin Hadoken

Character 2 in the team is a female fighter hits heavy and has a relevantly small combo pool almost all of them having heavy knockback however if you perform certain inputs right she has some killer counter moves and reversals this character is all about controlling speed and flow in the fight with kinda like Geese Howard with stuff like the Rashomon

Fighter 1: Is the team leader (mostly cause he was the one that scored them the chance to be apart of the fighting) He is natually weak and talent-less but makes up via training and a vicious opportunistic style he is a bit of a drama queen his personality could be compared to a siberian husky his connections that get them into the fighting has to do with his role as a detective as it happens he has a case to solve with a side goal of enjoy the fights.

Fighter 3: Is the biggest of the 3 however she is the balance well trained rather talented but she prefers the use of the fundamentals and simple but effective moves she is more quiet then her compatriots he job is a scientist but like her friends she is a fighter by nature and might be even more violent then her friends she is comparable to a Dire-wolf huge dangerous when provoked but mostly keeps to herself and her group she wants her partners to acknowledge her as a fighter.

RA already has good netcode but fails the convenience part, Mednafen has most of the convenience but poor netcode, emulators that use Kaillera are complete jokes on the netcode front (I know there wasn't a big push for rollback when Kaillera was created and it was designed to be generic but it's really long in the tooth now)

Listen to this guy. It doesn't matter if it's not the most popular game or if it gets ignored at EVO. Injustice is my jam these days and it wasn't even that popular before MKX came out. But even still there are enough people playing that matches are easy to find. And most people who are still at it after all this time are pretty good too. If Skullgirls is the kind of game you want to play then just go for it.

The reason there are less indie fighters compared to other genres is that the nature of them being competitive makes it extremely hard to make one good enough that it's worth playing. Even the big developers with whole teams working on balance and loads of playtesters. It's really hard to make a fighter that's interesting and varied while still being balanced enough to be worth playing.

I always think of a fighting game roster composed of characters from forgotten/unknown fightans. Like mugen, but made from ground up with consistent gameplay, even changing the controls of some characters to fit.
The roster would be large and the characters would be grouped by their archetypes, like "beast man", "robot", "wrestler", "Ryu clone", "military man", "caveman", "animal", "frak", somewhat like in the "Fight-A-Base", and each member of each group would represent one kind of gameplay, like charging motion, half circle, Zangief-like grappler...

The gameplay would be something like SF 3, but with teams like KOF.
