So, I want to put my romhacks on actual cartridges (GB, GBC, GBA, NES, SNES) and sell them to the kids or nerds on the market. I know that almost all consoles had these read-only cartridges, so I will probably need some special machinery to do this. Even if it means making cartridges from a scratch, buying blanks from the original devs or replacing the data with some ancient computers, I think 'm ready for this. I just want to know what kind of equipment is needed, so here I am, asking all of you guys, hoping that there's an anon that knows everything. Also, a general romhacking thread.

Well, I'm not a tech savvy, so It's hard for me to figure it out, but I'm a fast learner. Making romhacks is easy, I've done it before. I came here to know if things like this are possible these days. I mean, they had to do this back then, and making a small 'factory' with an old friend shouldn't be hard for us; we don't want to make lots of money on this, it's mainly for kicks. There's no such thing as 'Homebrewing for Dummies', and I'm on /vr/ almost every day, so I thought that it's the best place to look for the answers.

I've just said that having a good laugh is more important than money. It's not that I want do do this for a living, I separate this and having a job. I just like the vibe that's connected to finding shit like 'Mario World 17' or some obscure platformers with replaced sprites being sold as original Shrek, Lion King or Sonic franchise on the market. I always found this to be hilarious and ridiculous and wanted to take part in this.

Search for Game Boy cartridge + flasher or writer & reader or programmer. Not sure if the rewritable cartridges are currently available.

Yeah, shit is crazy.
I've tried to purchase LSD: Dream Emulator for Play Station a few years ago and it was about 280$. Then I've heard about the Earthbound cartridges and was even more surprised, so I've just decided to emulate both of them.
Anyways, aren't people keen on checking the cartridges' insides to find if they are original?

Thank you very much. ^^ Turns out that this GB Cart flasher is way cheaper than I expected, and DIYing a GB cartridge seems to be easier when compared to other consoles, so now I'm one step closer to the idea.
Also, looking for the Earthbound repros mentioned by someone a few minutes ago, I've stumbled upon this: http://callanbrown.com/index.php/basic-nes-reproduction
It seems to be very helpful. ^^

I don't think this place has the answers. Have you tried zophar's domain forums?

Honestly expensive though they may be, in the long run flashcarts would end up cheaper because if you found some bug in your hack/want to update something that may mean you need an entirely different cart.

Plus you aren't nuking another cart to make your own.

Makes you wonder what Maternalbound would fetch for if you were really nasty, because there's still "uncensored" EB carts floating around.

I am a bit childish sometimes. I'm kind of trying to get rid of using emoticones but I keep catching myself doing this.
Anyways, I've never thought that it may seriously infuriate anybody.

Oh, that,s kind of disappointing... But that dude sticking that cat on the cartridge is a fucking genius.
