Is there a more bullshit boss in this series than Jawenko?

The cantina boss; any number of ESB bosses, such as the probe droid with 10 trillion health.

The probe droid is more tedious than anything. Jawenko has impossible platforming and you lose your gun upgrades if you die.

I can usually get through an Empire or Jedi run on normal with no continues, but I have to really work at getting through Super Star Wars.

>> No.3520376

Jawenko is ez as fuck if you have seeker

It's amazing to compare the difficulty of these games with modern ones. I guess they had to make it hard because the games were short AND you had to pay out the ass for them.

I need to play through this game again, but I remember as a kid having the damndest time with him. I think one time I beat him but then died in the lava.

Return of the Jedi is the most merciful, but I'm going to say Empire Strikes Back is probably the most rewarding for it's hard difficulty. A New Hope I thought was weird because of the way high jumping worked.
to be fair I started with RotJ and went backwards

the platforming right before him was horseshit, but I think the cantina thing was a way bigger cunt

Well, he usually knocks me in the lava when I replay and I have to fight him with a worse weapon because I don't play on a regular basis anymore. I'd say I replay this game every maybe 5 years. Its doable.

The platforming not hard. Super Star Wars is pretty consistent about how it works. Only use the super jump to jump vertically, use the regular jump for distance.

They are hard, sure, but not unfairly so. Many of the bosses have weaknesses or dead zones. Not OP's pic, but he's not really that bad.

This.

they made stupidly difficult points in games to stop kids from beating them during rentals

>> No.3522389

I beat these with cheats as rentals, but later when I actually bought them I did my best to do it legit.

It gets incredibly fuckhard.

All you need to do is literally jump on a platform while blasting away with a plasma pistol. The slowdown will give you enough time to react to whatever fireball he throws at you. Really, the game boils down to shooting like a madman and slowing the game to a crawl. The game is not that hard

This. The Cantina boss is more bullshit than that thing is. All you have to do is keep shooting and not fall in the pit. Easy as pie if you keep the seeker gun.

These aren't amazing games but I really loved them back then.

The whole trilogy is garbage.

That is complete bull shit. There are interviews with Iwata explaining how wrong you cunts are.

Disagree. Super Star Wars is one of the best games on the console. Could live without the other two, though.

OP here. Empire was always my jamalam. With the addition of unique abilities for Chewie and Han, the incredibly fun Force powers, I find myself playing it at least every year since Christmas 93.

Never had a problem with that guy.

Every game is different. There are also interviews explaining that the rental breakers were indeed a thing with at least some Disney games (Lion King in particular). I'd not be surprised if this were the case with other western games where renting stuff was a big part of gaming.

Interesting. When I used to play that game a lot the cantina boss was the only thing that ever gave me trouble. Usually had to beat it with Chewie.

In like 1995 traded my deck of Magic cards for a Super Empire cart with a kid in my class who couldn't get passed Dagobah. One of the best trades I ever made.

>> No.3526828

I don't remember Jawenko being all that hard.
