Has anyone bought retro stuff from gamestop? If so was it good condition?

paying 70 dollars for that crap hardware...
BSNES fix this problem with improved graphics and sound

>> No.3521494

think of the sort of people that trade systems into gamestop.
I'd be surprised if it didn't have cigarette burns on it and wasnt infested with cockroaches.

They're notoriously bad about accepting bootlegs for trade ins and selling them. They're also Gamestop.

>> No.3521525

bought an snes game and two n64 games a while back with a gift card. everything worked, and was actually in pretty good condition. labels were good, contacts were pretty clean.

a rare instance of gamestop not fucking up royally.

probably fine for a console.
you could probably buy a broken one and swap it for the one you bought from gamestop in a return and they wouldn't notice

>> No.3521607

It's probably better to just buy a Super Famicom instead. Even paying shipping to a re-shipper (such as Noppin or Buyee) and international shipping you're still going to be around the same range.

The Japanese also seem to take a lot better care of their stuff. I bought an SFC that was listed as "good" condition and when I got it yesterday it was nearly pristine except for a tiny scratch on the top and some marks in the front where the controllers connect. I got it with two mint-condition controllers, first-party power brick and composite cables for about $65-70 shipped.

Some people would like to sit further than 3 foot from the console.

And you're forgetting you'd need a cartridge adapter to play your old carts, whereas with a US SNES you could just clip out the tabs in the console to play SFC carts.

Fixed your problem also you can just use a SNES controller if you don't want to use the much better SFC controller.

Not technically /vr/, but it was pretty entertaining.

I bought a copy of Legend of Mystical Ninja and was pretty happy with it. Came with box and manual but that is an exceptional case with gamestop.
Gamestop retro prices are pretty decent with the 10% off + 16% + free shipping. Or with B2G1.

Why is the SFC controller better than the SNES controller?
Aren't they the same except for color?

SFC controller has convex buttons and a shorter wire.

You're on the VR board, you should know that a lot of people prefer owning the original hardware.
