I have yet to beat Starfox 64, but I plan on getting the 3DS version eventually.

I dunno, I liked being able to hop in and out of the arwing, at least. There weren't any running-only stages, right? Even that Pigma facility thing you could leave and fly outside.

>> No.344129

There were running only stages. The last level and one other. The ground combat sucked balls, and the levels where you could alternate between running and flying, one of them was always useless.

I really like Star Fox 2, though I can understand why Nintendo didn't want to release it. Still, I wonder if trying something like it for the 3DS would work.

Feels more like that Nintendo doesn't know what to do with the franchise. Nintendo seems to not like doing serious games, maybe because they are limiting into the amount of different things you can do with a serious story.

They could drop the super serious stuff, rev up the camp levels and make it 80s sci-fi as fuck. Mix it with some Freespace 2 and you've got a decent lighthearted arcade space sim on your hands.

You can keep a;; the serious stuff you want, as long as theres small pauses to expand the characters and to get a rest of the plot for a while, Nintendo knows how to do that pretty well, the do it all the time in their RPGs.

They should keep the on-foot missions but make them ala Sin & Punishment add side missions to earn credits/money to pimp up your Arwing plus have wingmates that after saving them, later they would ACTUALLY help you, kindy like a relationship/friend stat system

I like puppy. I'd snuggle her in a heartbeat. She's my furry waifu. Fuck that Krystal bitch.

>> No.358327

Krystal wasn't even that bad in SF:Adventures. I guess because she wasn't in 95% of the game and therefore couldn't fuck it up any worse than it already was. It wasn't until Assault came and made her a pilot too that she was so bad. She should have been a one off character in SFA and been left alone.

I kinda like where your going with this but I have THE perfect idea for what should happen with a new Starfox game. Anybody remember this gem?
Now personally I'm still one to think that it might be rather cool and interesting to keep the on foot missions if they can actually fix what was wrong with them(Be honest the only problem you ever had with them in Assault was how awkward the control scheme was.) If they take the time to flesh out the on foot gameplay it really could be something we can be proud of, work in the gameplay of Freelancer and BAM. I give to you gentlemen the next step in a Star Fox game.
