I've recently switched to emulating genesis after a long time of playing with real hardware and a flashcart. I'm replaying old favorites now and am finding no obvious flaws or hiccups with the emulation. Has genesis emulation finally gotten to the same point as with NES, where the console is essentially perfectly emulated to the point where I cab finally stop chasing expensive carts?

what emulator are you using?

>> No.3499524

Been using gens and kega. Wii too on a couple of occasions.

Throw that shit out the window.
Use GenesisPlus GX if you want serious emulation.

Gens is outdated garbage. Don't touch it with a 10 foot pole unless you happen to be using a Pentium 2 or earlier.

Kega Fusion does most games fine but not 100%.

Exodus emulates the Genesis the most accurately, but it has some known bugs due to nobody knowing how the 68k works on a microcode level. It also requires an i7 to run fine, and is primarily a debugger.

>> No.3499671

I think these days I use Fusion.

>> No.3499687

Genesis Plus is really good, about as accurate as it gets. Don't think it supports 32X though, if you're into that.

>> No.3499720

Gen plus supports the 32x, CD, and master system

But it only on wii. Does this even have windows version?

What the? I could have sworn I've used Kgen for linux, probably for 'Mint. It might seem like I might be getting it mixed up with Kega Fusion, but that can't be.

Kega fusion and Genesis plus gx are perfectly accurate.

Kega fusion for stabdalone and gen plus gx for retroarch.

>> No.3500119

>>3499517
if you really, really like Gens, use Gens GS instead
Genesis Plus GX is available as a RetroArch core, and it's probably the most accurate, barring things like Exodus
and then there's Fusion, which has known issues, but it's pretty much fine for almost every commercial game, and supports the 32X and CD

I don't remember.

I realize I must have gotten it mixed up with Dgen.

Exodus isn't that accurate, not yet at least and it hasn't made much progress recently.

interesting. Any more info?

This is just proof the Genesis is for contrarians and yurapoors, we've had near perfect SNES emulation for several years, and perfect emulation has existed for a while now as well. No body cares about the genesis, and rightfully so.

>> No.3500887

MD.emu for android is crap too, scanline overlay doesnt support 1080p screens

>> No.3500889 [DELETED]

Hey there :D ! I'm here to tell you it's perfectly fine to enjoy the games in inaccurate emulation as long as they do not have massive sound/graphics/input problems :)

The games are still mostly worth for what they are, and nobody gives a rats ass if you still use stuff like Gens or ZSNES as long as the games are playable and enjoyable.

Only dumb autists think 100% perfect emulation brings some kind of joy into their lives xD. Don't be one of them and enjoy things for what they are :)

Is Gens Plus GX any other place besides Retroarch and Bizhawk?

No need for such butthurt. ZSNES has very low input lag.

Do avoid ignoring that relative to this topic - which genesis emulators have low input lag like that? Or hell, which ones have high input lag?

ZSNES.

>Exodus isn't that accurate, not yet at least and it hasn't made much progress recently.

It already does things that no other emu is capable of.

the author isn't making progress on it because he is busy dumping Mega LD games.
