Does anyone else get a Castlevania (Metroidvania in particular) feel from this game?

I swear this game is like Castlevania if Simon had a kick-ass armor instead of a whimsy whip and Dracula had cooler buddies that actually did shit instead of just slacking-off in his mansion.

Is your brain broken? There are some similar colors but the art isn't close, gameplay is completely different, music is different...

The art and music are precisely what's similar actually.

Holy fuck a Lords of Thunder thread.

Bumping with inferior Sega CD cover.

Personally, Lords of Thunder reminds me more of Spriggan with the Shmup+Sword & Sorcery combination.

I always felt the cover to Winds of Thunder was done by Masamune Shirow, back when he used actual paints instead of digital Photoshop work. I got the vibe that it was not quite like Gate of Thunder, but still amazing as its own thing.

What is Rayxanber 2?

>>3488697
I still want that game even when it is "inferior" just can't afford it.

I finally decided I had saved up a bit to pay someone to replace the capacitors of my old TurboDuo, and I am pretty excited to play these games again!

Playing this game with any armor other than the water one is absolute hell.

For me it was not a case of parroting AVGN. There are multiple factors, such as my lack of funds and I could only get a game every so often.

Priorities shift as there are always great games to get given the time, the SegaCD version of Lords of Thunder was lower on my priority list because as you can see on the upper right, I have Winds of Thunder for my TurboDuo already.

Timing may have dictated I get other titles I was more hyped about at the moment; Saturn, Playstation, SNES, and even on the Genesis/CD/32X had titles I wanted. It is difficult with a limited amount of resources.

Another factor is environment, around my area in the US, it is all Nintendo and Sega is pretty hard to find unless it is a sports title, even back then. I can't even recall Lords of Thunder on any shelf of Blockbuster Video, Electronics Boutique, Babbages, Toys 'R Us, Ames, Service Merchandise, nor Silo.

As for the image, I forgot about one more title ... so actually 3 more to be at peace ...

I will say that at least Lords of Thunder for the TurboDuo was available at EB. Still just didn't see it for the SegaCD.

That wasnt an insult directed at you. I meant it was all relatively cheap because it was not widely known.

Ah, sorry, I misinterpreted that. I am still super jealous of you having the SegaCD version still. My salt can still insure nothing will grow around me.

Everyone who collects gets some stuff at the right time. I still had to pay reasonably large amounts for my SCD collection, just 50% or less than what it goes for now.

Now, N64; that stuff I picked up mostly for literally free.

I don't have a Turbografx and never will. That stuff is so rare and expensive I've never seen one in person and have known all of one person ever who owned one (they sold it before I met them).

I find long thumbnails better for gaming, but thanks for the input.
