In a perfect world, maybe. But marketing an interactive experience like a video game though a print ad makes it pretty hard to convey the actual quality of the product.

Also remember that it's an advertiser's job to market whatever they've been given as well as they can, even if it's not great. It's not his job to be socially responsible for some nebulous morality. It's his job to sell as much of whatever it is so he can keep his job to pay his rent and feed his kids. If sex and insults are his best guess as to what will succeed then that's what he'll do and it's what he SHOULD do.
