When was the last time a developer put in effort into a compilation?

Namco Museum for the PlayStation was fucking awesome because it was an interactive world full of information. Instead of being an all inclusive menu, each game had it's own virtual little world and there was even a theater room where you could see individual sprites and listen to music.

Just saw a video, it's pretty dope that they simulated the cartridge lock-on for Knuckles.

what comps? all I remember is Ultimate Genesis Collection being a menu. Actually the Genesis Collection on PS2 had 3D remakes of some games but was also just menus, slightly better than a full on rom pack on a disc.

I was just playing the first 4 volumes a few hours ago. They finally added manual look up and down and strafing in volume 4. I need that in all the games.

From what I hear, the Atari Vault is insanely good.

But nothing like what you describe or Sonic Jam

Mega Man Legacy Collection has a bunch of art and stuff in it, with also challenge missions, but the emulation isn't good

Speaking of Genesis, the collection on Steam has a nifty hub.
Nowhere near as cool as Namco Museum 3 or Sonic Jam, but I like it. This doesn't technically count as a collection does it?

Because they (capcom usa) hired backbone, who's always shitty at doing ports.

That looks pretty cool!
Someone should make a frontend like that.

It was originally like that

The Steam version recently got updated with a bedroom hud

You don't get to walk around in it or anything, but it's nice.

I don't think those awful built-in-VHS TVs were common until a little later though

I agree. To put things in perspective, this was a few years before MAME and arcade emulation was readily available.

for anyone who didnt know already, this thing has steam workshop support to download "mods" for games.. and because there are no mod tools for it, reading between the lines means sega essentially grants you permission to use any romhack you like under the condition you own the base game

unsurprisingly, people abuse this act of good will and upload other games as workshop mods
