establishing a data exchange connection with low throughput and using cables is becoming a little rare, especially with portable devices. We have bluetooth, wifi, lte and nfc for a reason.
Even the GBC tried to do away with it for data exchange

NDS is from 2004, that's 12 years ago. The site is for kids. The target demographic of the quiz has only ever used Nintendo handhelds that connect wireless. Even the competition, the PSP, uses wireless communication.
So, yes, the concept of connecting handhelds through wired connections is kind of outdated

Fuck dude, not even intel can agree if it's 1000 or 1024.

As a rule though, its 1000 for marketing and 1024 on computers.

1KB = 1000B
1KiB = 1024B

KiB are used in the context of RAM and CPUs, KB everywhere else, in theory. The CPU/RAM dudes unfortunately spilled into the other subjects, leading to confusion, like storage wrongly using KB in most operating systems. So intel doesn't have to "agree" on anything. They use whichever system is historically more appropriate for a subject

they usually do not have old consoles. /vr/ gaming is not a default stance. Many people get rid of their old systems when they get new ones. They don't keep them, or hand them down to relatives. And likewise, many people have no interest in playing old shit, but instead play the latest releases, going as far as selling a few months old games in order to finance the latest release

modern games are designed to have a history, even the ones that are played in short rounds. So get xp, achievements, unlockables, settings, all these things. A game that persists no state at all is highly unusual nowadays.

In the case of Mario, unless you're skilled and speedrunning, you'll spend a lot of time to get through the game. The idea of resetting the player's progress to a full zero after spending like an hour or two on a game is kind of considered highly unusual design nowadays. Usually the iterations are much shorter.

good point, I did not notice the 3D was part of the title, just figured they were asking for the difference between Ocarina of Time and its 2D predecessors. Explains why I fucked this one up. I was assuming video clues would be too much of a player insult in the N64 days and instead picked Navi, thinking that game was the first Zelda where they went all hamfisted tutorial

Oh and I got 6 out of 7. Got the Kirby one wrong because I'm a retard. Never had it back in the day, but the GBA version is super fun to play 2 player with the link cable. My year old is getting really good at it. She used to just fly to the top of the level and just glide to the end, but now she directs me where to to and what to do. Daddy still gets designated the boss fighter though.
