There you go. Most female-centric games back then were more often than not JP-exclusive. I think the only character you mentioned there that got her game released in the US was Athena. Other than that, games like Legendary Wings and Ninja Princess were modified to replace the female characters with male versions, although I think those are the only two that come in mind.
