Gradius III™ on SNES is a blast to play. It kicks everyone's ass. Gradius III™ on SNES is arguably superior to the arcade version. It has an incredible OST and is super far-out.

Fun game I've had since childhood. Still haven't been able to beat it because you pretty much have to 1cc it. Compared to other horizontal shmups, it's shortcomings are noticeable. Darius Force is my go-to horizontal.

The slowdown makes it a chore in some places, but it's a much more reasonable game than the notoriously difficult arcade version. That said, I do still find the arcade version an interesting game, and its hardcore players are amazing.

Into the fucking trash and then straight into an incinerator.

There's a difficult mode called "arcade", but it's really just the highest difficulty rating and nothing more. The SNES and arcade versions have major differences in levels, mechanics, etc.

It does in places however the port on ps2 lets you turn all slowdown off and you can overclock in mame for the same result. Vid related.

Behave mate Gradius gaiden gives it a dicking as for best hori of all time?maybe if it wasn't a slowdown shit fest and far to easy to clear the first loop even on hardest difficulties.

III is much harder than Gaiden, though. GG is probably the easiest in the series to 1-ALL.
