I want to point out how every single platform in CVI is part of the scenerey/held up by something in the background. I love how meticulous this game is.

Hands down, my favorite rendition of Dracula. It embodies so much more dread and more of a Lovecraft-ian idea that he cannot be fully comprehended.

I agree, the whole game is like a lovecraftian piece of software. It's all bugged and unfinished, something that cannot be comprehended, a cosmic abomination of software development.

I'd much rather immerse myself in the beautiful sprite work there than the copy-paste hobnosh that Sotn is. Seriously, every level is just completely unimaginative and apes itself and every other game with a castle and monsters before it.

I agree, Amigavania is the peak of the Castlevania series. You just immerse in it and it's like you really are a clueless euro kid who doesn't know any better.

Sarcasm is the weapon of the weak. Personally I've never been to Euroland but if you don't understand why the game is great that's your opinion. But if you want to come back and ever have a constructive discussion on why you think it sucks let me know, in the mean time I'm going to enjoy what I find to be beautiful.

What did you mean? It wasn't sarcastic, I really like to immerse myself in different kind of situations when I'm playing retro games, like, when I play PC-88 stuff, I immerse myself into thinking I'm a japanese student in the 80s.

Suprised there hasn't been a fan made Castlevania on the Amiga. A couple projects like that exist and they are way better than the official work. Like that Space Harrier port for a Euro computer.

Final boss is Shigeru Miyamoto in a cape, and instead of the Castlevania crumbling, it's Nintendo HQ.

>> No.3415645

>>3415634

I was thinking more like Australia-kun himself is the final boss and all the enemies and hazards in the game are related to his shitposting routines, but making the game be about him fighting his vendetta against Nintendo would also be funny.

That level is called the Clockwork mansion, it's not part of the castle.

>>3416046

I don't mind the mode7 stages. I can think of other gimmick stages in other Castlevania games that I find actually annoying. The 2 mode7 stages in the clockwork mansion are very short on an otherwise long level, it's like an intermission.

Nah, I'm pretty sure the mode 7 gimmick stages are the worst in the series.

They're not anything special besides the surprise factor the first time you play, but I don't mind them.
I think out of all "gimmick" stages in CV, I like this one the least. The medusa heads never really try to touch you, and the platforming feels weird, instead of having to jump on the edges of the platforms like always, you can just jump up and you end up above the platform, always thought that felt a bit sketchy. Also it's kind of long and all you do is jump up and wait for the screen to scroll.
The rotating room on IV is also waiting but I feel like it's very short, and the spinning room is just a normal section with platforming and enemies, the only issue is the slowdown.
There's another auto-scrolling gimmicky part on Bloodlines that I dislike, also on the tower of pisa, that one part you jump from platform to platform horizontally then vertically then horizontally again. The idea of jumping over floating rocks orbitating the tower of pise is actually cool, but that part is also mindless and boring and takes too long.

My problem with gimmick stages isn't the gimmick itself, but when it takes too long.

Thankfully they're just short sections on otherwise fine games.

If that's the one I'm thinking of, you were literally walking around the outside of the tower. I contend that was cool as fuck, but I get your points for not liking it.

My favorite would have to be Versailles Palace from Bloodlines. Just struck me as beautiful, in all honesty.
