Next buy/got your eye on thread.

ITT: We share what we're gonna buy next or what we have our eyes on.

I'm gonna buy one of these bad boys and also get some replacement joysticks for my N64 controllers, and play OOT, MM and other classics in maximum comfort.

SCART is just a meme. S-video looks essentially the same, minus all of the expensive shit you have to buy for SCART.

Or build one, but there aren't that many tutorials on how to do so.

I got a framemeister a bit ago. Overall pretty pleased with it, though don't expect to use it it 1080p mode and get decent scanlines. 720p seems to work best for that. Also look into getting an Extron switcher from ebay so you can send a signal to both the framemeister as well as a proper crt.

I'm currently looking into getting the SLG 3000 to put in line with my Extron ISM 482 scaler. basically want to feed the scaler 15khz rgbs and output 31khz vga with the scanlines. I want to do this mainly because getting good geometry and linearity seems to be a pain with regular 15khz TVs.

With 1080p about to be obsolete, have there been any announcements about a 4k Framemeister or a firmware upgrade to allow 4k on current ones (not sure if that's possible with its current hardware since you need at least HDMI 2.0 or better)?

Or at the very least, are there digital scalers that will convert 1080p to 4k without any filtering or noticeable latency?

I used to have one and I agree with the above statement. But if you can get it for < £20 ($25) then it's pretty decent. The PSP also makes a great emulator box with a little work. I am a fan of the GP32 too if you can pick one up cheap.

Well it's already outdated. Surely 1080p content will continue to be produced for a while, but 4k TVs are already replacing 1080 ones in electronics stores.

Probably something available locally. I'm hoping for one with

And then I'll see what I can do with it.

Getting an AV cable switchboard for SNES, N64, and Gamecube

BUT I'm also gonna get a couple games. Preferably for the SNES, but I'd take an N64 suggestion too, but I think I have most of the good N64 games.

WHAT DO I BUY? I have amazon prime so I can get these fuckers by Tuesday, but I don't know what to get.

Last week I got Turtles in Time and Killer Instinct. I don't have Link to the Past. Should I get that?

Please help and please respond bros.

I just can't justify that amount of money. At the end of the day it's still nowhere near the visual quality of emulation. There's nothing wrong with a ~$10 S-video cable.

But I can justify this. Already bought an ED64 which is cool as fuck.

In my personal opinion s-video looks washed out, it's a great clear signal but the colors just don't pop. I think for early 3d games it looks okay, but snes and Saturn games have such distinctive palettes that just don't look as nice as they should.

I don't think I'm going to get all (or any) from this place but it's a good way to display my wishlist and compare prices I find elsewhere.

The only games I really, truly want on the list are the two Kirby games because they don't play nicely with flashcarts. The others are would be nice, but I'm still on the fence.

I was going to add Dracula XX but holy fucking christ it's expensive.

How do you even know he intended to use it for that? I don't very often on mine. I just didn't want a CRT; I wanted to be able to play ALL my consoles on a single, modern TV. The Framemister kicksass for that.

As for my next buy, looking for region free Sega Saturns.

I'm the same, I don't have the space for a CRT and I want to play all my games on my lcd. Having scanlines is just a bonus that I can turn on and off, but it's not why I'm buying it.

is gba allowed to be discussed on /vr/?
if so
>sigma star saga

>invader

are all on my list to buy soon.

gonna go check out the new game store that just opened up in my town tomorrow and see if they've got a decent selection of older stuff, specifically gb/gbc.
if they dont have a decent selection i'll go to my regular gamestore which is about twenty five minutes away, they've usually got a good selection of boxed gb/gbc/gba games, and i've just recently started getting into collection for those.

I bought one of those even though I have a good CRT. I bring it over friends' houses to play multiplayer shit, but I hardly use it. My original concern was that my CRT was trash, so I might switch over to my LCD for my retro systems, but I fixed my CRT relatively easily.

Regardless, it's still a good purchase. People will shit on it because there are other upscalers available, but this one is specifically designed for gaming, and the ability to upload various gaming presets for different systems is nice.
