Mate, III was for NES and you're thinking of VI.

I'd rather have the Dragon Quest games. Why not StarFox 2, CONTRA III: The Alien Wars, Rockman & Forte, Super Castlevania IV, Castlevania: Dracula X, Tales of Phantasia, Clock Tower, and Breath of Fire Duology?

I think the point he was trying to make is that this thing only has an HDMI out and won't be true to the original form of the games, so you're not really gaining anything over emulation.

If you buy an original NES and hook it up to a CRT you are getting a far more time-period accurate experience, in the form truer blacks, scanlines, dithering, color bleeding blah blah

TL;DR cucks will buy snes mini and wonder why it looks like turd on their HDTV.

I still use ZSNES, run it original aspect ratio, no filters or anything. Fuck CRTs for emulation. IPS > TN monitor.
>>3369931
Doesn't even matter cause I've been way more of a fan of Draqon Quest compared to Final Fantasy. FFVII can go suck a fuck.

Why would anyone WANT A SNES MINI when we don't even know what the NES mini will really be like?
https://i.4cdn.org/vr/1468765221597.jpg

>> No.3370142

No games requiring special chips because these are no effort rush jobs. That's why the mini NES doesn't have Castlevania III on it. They couldn't get it to work.

I think that would be a solid list, encompassing most of landmark major 1st and 2nd party releases, as well as some of the better known 3rd party games and a couple people from different back grounds may have missed the first time through. It puts emphasis on platformers, but that's mostly because a lot of the first party releases are platformers. I feel snes rpgs are fairly represented, including most of the well known examples from the system, several of which end up on many of personal favorite lists. A couple run and guns and beat em ups.

I would have liked to include more fighting games and puzzle games, I know there are more that would be worth listing but I'm not well versed in those.

I would be happy with that, and I'd consider buying something with those games on it. Even though I'm not a huge fan of a couple, I know a lot of people are and I can't say I don't enjoy playing any of them.

Here is my list. I only included games that were officially released in North America, and I tried to have genre diversity.

Here are some reasons why a few notable titles were excluded:
Both Star Fox and Yoshi's Island were never ported to the VC due to issues with the Super FX chip, and Super Mario All-Stars due to Nintendo using the original Mario trilogy to sell the the NES Classic and Nintendo thinking All-Stars was too good for a standard VC release seeing as they re-released as a strandalone ROM dump disc for the Wii, and Tetris Attack having issues with the Tetris copyright to the name of Panel de Pon USA. Killer Instinct is now owned by Microsoft.

There are still more than enough games to get to 25-30 game collection from just North American releases.

So what games would you include in such a collection?

Me personally:

1. Super Mario World
2. Super Mario Kart
3. Super Mario RPG
4. Donkey Kong Country
5. Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
6. Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie's Double Trouble
7. The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past
8. Super Metroid
9. Kirby Super Star
10. Kirby's Dream Land 3
11. Kirby's Dream Course
12. EarthBound
13. F-Zero
14. Super Punch-Out
15. Pilotwings
16. Final Fantasy IV
17. Final Fantasy VI
18. Chrono Trigger
19. Secret of Mana
20. Harvest Moon
21. Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals
22. Super Castlevania IV
23. Contra III: Alien Wars
24. The Legend of the Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon
25. Axelay or Gradius III
26. Mega Man X
27. Street Fighter II Turbo
28. One of the Final Fights
29. Demon's Crest
30. Wario's Woods (I doubt this would happen since it did not even happen for the NES collection and the SNES has never been re-released, but I can still dream).

At the ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM, every first party game released for the system. Region exclusive, anyway.

>> No.3370871

What would be your list for a N64 mini?

Remember that it would have less games to give the other systems some weight.

>> No.3373157

it's like you don't even realize it's nothing more than a wii mini without an optical drive
snes virtual console titles are going to be available for purchase and for use with wii classic controller
