Tragically enough, Knights of Xentar was possibly the best jrpg game the PC ever had in the retro days. It was a decent jrpg, all in all - hentail stuff not included. You had your protagonist who saves the world, his companion that was strong as an ox, heal bitch, save the world plan, lots of demons to kill and a storyline that made sort of-kind of sense.

Personally I like how Cobra Mission tried to be a very different JRPG than the rest, being set in the modern times, on an island off the coast of Florida (IIRC). It's a pretty solid game all over, although it's a bit hard at times and it has some non-standard gameovers that are a bit dickish. The battle system is original and fun, however, really a cut above the rest.

Mad Paradox is okay, although very standard.

Princess Maker 2 was never officially released (although it is licensed) but it is a pretty solid RPG/Raisin Sim from Gainax of all people.
