IMO Castlevania is the ultimate NES title. Everything about it from the theme, to music, to visuals, etc is perfect. Even the difficulty is spot on. Hard but fair. It's the type of game you throw the controller down then immediately pick back up to try again.

The decision to leave Tetris off the list is actually a compliment to Tetris. The game transcends the NES and has appeared on countless platforms. It could never be defined to one console. Even though it was released on the NES, it's not really an NES game in the same sense as Contra or Metroid..

They are, but it's by design. The entire game is designed around the way you are allowed to move.

That said, I still have trouble with them. 99% of all the games I play have mid-air control allowed in the jump physics, so when I go play Castlevania, I constantly forget that I can't do that.

The poll options are retarded. DW3 and 4, but not 1 or 2? CV1 or 3, but no option for 2? Zelda 1, but not Zelda II? You're skipping sequels, and not even unpopular sequels. The ones you skipped generally sold as many copies as other entries in their respective series.

It's like the entire poll was based on the opinions of AVGN, or some other shitty e-celeb garbage.

As much as I enjoyed that game, it's no where near as good as CV1 or 3 and the fact that it is almost impossible to beat it without a guide is definitely a major flaw.
