Got into this series recently. It's pretty good. Them trying to beat Adventure Island was a treat.

The mods pretty much gave up on the last /vr/ thread halfway through. It seems like they wanted it to burn itself out. They deleted the next thread pretty quick. The flame war guy already followed us here. I don't know how this will turn out.

I've interacted with a lot of people on other boards over the years who have admitted to shitposting / "making fun of Arino" in the /vr/ general. Their motivation is almost always because of the strict and often unfair moderation—not the other way around.

Then there are those who seek to cause "drama" by accusing content creators of themselves causing drama, or simply shitting on them hoping for a response (and therefore the drama they claim to abhor). When there are no subs for months at a time, people look for other ways to entertain themselves.

This. Sad thing is the original dev team got noticed by Nintendo for their work on the GCCX games and they ended up develeoping the Famicom / NES Remix games right when they would've been developing the third GCCX game.

They've always picked the episodes they liked the most to sub first.

I started watching a couple years ago and the subs were practically scattered over all seasons with huge gaps in between.

The ability to watch the series chronologically is a very new thing.

One episode per month is pretty much the average, but there can be longer pauses like we have right now because the main subber worked on Kan's new book.

Oh, I'm afraid the high-quality encodes will be quite operational when your friends arrive. SA will continue to use them. They will continue to exist, and to propagate. Any translators who wish to have their work honored with high-quality typesetting (and timing of course) to match the quality of the encodes will always have a home in association with or within VRiSFAGS.

In the summer of 2013, a tripcode using individual here by the name of Kakaricho was translating episodes in the thread, starting with two DVD bonus challenges. This was done openly, resulting in a lot of backlash from anonymous posters upset that it was detracting from "discussion" of the show.

When the translator saw fit to perform his first true episode translation, people were split between three choices: Project VICE, Space Hunter, and Karnov.

The "fags guy" was able to obtain a high definition copy of Karnov but not the other two. Translation moved away from the thread to a public living Google document. The "fags guy" continued to obtain episodes relentlessly, and the opposition that once attacked the translator for posting in the thread turned on him.

Unlike the translator, the "fags guy" never snitches on people. He handles things face to face. One of the people attacking him was in fact the timer for Kakaricho's episodes, and like all attackers he was humiliated in front of the thread.

Thus, he quit his work before it was done, and though he'd never interacted in a hostile manner with the "fags guy" as himself, he claimed he was quitting because of him. Kakaricho also quit publicly, saying he would take the translation away from everyone to prevent the "fags guy" from completing it with his timing / typesetting skills. He'd already gotten an offer to join SA, and had taken it weeks before, but saw an opportunity to cause the drama that he loves while also holding the thread hostage.

The "fags guy" socially engineered them both into completing the translation and releasing it. They'd already quit but he kept them going long enough to finish it. The same detractors / shitposters who used to attack the translation team now attack him, since all anyone wants is drama.

LC is another translation group, LC-GCCX. It's headed by DarknessSavior, DS. He and the "fags guy" work well together. Anyone saying otherwise is lying. No abuse.
