The only boxes I have left. Wish I would've kept the rest.

Are you proposing a cardboard collection thread, OP? I'm willing, I just want your intentions made clear first.

I don't think it's unopened but rather just kept the cellophane on while just opening enough of a slit in one side to access the box. I tend to open whatever I can that way myself now.

Sounds neat. Have a bunch of garbage SNES games. DKC 1-3, MMX, Soul Blazer, and Mario Paint aren't garbage, just duplicates. All the good boxed games are elsewhere.

Old picture, but I haven't gotten any more boxed N64 games since then so it's still good here.

Genesis was the easiest system to keep boxes for, since they were all plastic. I have every box for ever genesis game i own, but the cardboard boxes are pretty worn

>> No.3236240

I had my entire game collection stolen so I've got no cases or boxes.
Should I insist on the whole shebang or just save money buy taking the cheaper Disc/Cartridge only option?

>> No.3236245

>>3236227
Exactly, they're way more common and easier to find then Nintendo boxes because most people kept the clamshell cases. I'm thinking of making a custom case for my Alien Soldier repro.

Don't give a shit about boxes for cartridge-based games, but there's no good reason for any disc-based game to not be complete.

Pretty much this. Boxes for cartridge based games tend to be way more expensive anways

I recently gave all of my N64 boxes to a friend who is a total collectorfag. He's got a room in his house full of memorabilia and statues and figures and shit. I was actually going to chuck them in a recycling bin, but I figured he'd appreciate them more.

I still have boxes for all of my Zelda games across all systems, oddly enough. I guess I felt those were special enough to save. Got a handful of SNES boxes. Rest got trashed. I still have all of my genesis boxes, the plastic ones, anyway. I actually was toying with the idea of taking all the carts out and putting them in a instead of keeping them on a shelf, just so they're easier to access.

The japanese boxes are a lot more resistant than the US boxes.

some nice cardboard in this thread

<--- a small contribution

I recently won a Sega 6-button arcade pad on eBay for like 15 bucks. Still had the box with it.

I recycled it.

I am so triggered by this thread. I lost almost all of my retro cardboard in a flood. I was able to salvage all of the carts, controllers and systems with careful cleaning and drying, but the cardboard was beyond salvage. Just too much mud for any hope of recovery.

Ogre Battle 64 was the sole survivor. It just happened to be on loan at the time.

Buy a handful of favorites boxed to numb the pain.

>> No.3238637

I still have my Dreamcast box. I didn't get many N64 boxes because I mostly bought second hand games that didn't have a box. I still have Yoshi Story, Star Wars Racer, Starcraft, and F Zero X. They're all in shoddy condition, however.

Me again. I forgot I had this pic too. I keep my cardboard in my closet. Best place for it too, because the lack of light helps stave off color fading. As you can see I got more game boxes in that milk crate, as well as in the brown and swifter boxes.
